A notable moment in automotive history was recreated recently when a YouTuber decided to test the durability of the Tesla Cybertruck’s windows by throwing objects at them, much like Elon Musk did during the truck’s initial reveal. The original event in 2019 became memorable when a steel ball thrown at the Cybertruck’s window caused an unexpected break, despite claims of the glass’s strength.
Tesla seemed to have learned from past experiences, as demonstrated at a special delivery event in Texas, November 2023. Taking a more cautious approach, this time a baseball was used in place of steel balls to test the windows, resulting in no breakage and proving the vehicle’s improved resilience.
Following Tesla’s lead, the YouTuber, known as TechRax, conducted his own test on the Cybertruck’s windscreen. Echoing the official demonstration, he first used a baseball, which the glass withstood successfully on two occasions. Pushing further, the YouTuber then switched to a steel ball for a more rigorous test – perhaps expecting to mimic the original incident. Surprisingly, the glass did not break, marking a rare event where TechRax’s antics did not end in destruction.
For those interested in seeing this experiment firsthand and how the Cybertruck’s windows hold up under stress, the full video is available for viewing, offering a mix of tension and nostalgia for those who remember the original 2019 demonstration.
