Priority Unveils Rugged New Off-Road E-Bike With 96 Km Range and Gates Belt Drive

Priority E-Sauce debuts as a rugged electric bike with up to 60 miles of range

Priority has introduced the E-Sauce, an electrified version of its popular Sauce bicycle, designed for riders who want a capable e-bike for both city commuting and light off-road adventures. Built by the New York-based bike brand, the new Priority E-Sauce combines a strong rear hub motor, a long-range removable battery, wide tires, and low-maintenance components in a practical everyday package.

At the heart of the Priority E-Sauce is a 750W rear hub motor. With pedal assist, the e-bike can reach speeds of up to 28 mph, or about 45 km/h. However, it arrives configured as a Class 2 e-bike, meaning it is limited to 20 mph, or 32 km/h, out of the box. This setup makes it suitable for riders who want a balance between performance, legal compliance, and everyday usability.

Power comes from a 720Wh removable battery, which Priority says can deliver up to 60 miles, or 96 km, of riding range on a single charge. As with most electric bikes, real-world range will vary depending on factors such as rider weight, terrain, elevation, throttle use, assist mode, and average speed. Still, the large battery gives the E-Sauce enough capacity for daily commutes, longer weekend rides, and mixed-surface exploring.

The E-Sauce is built around a 6061 aluminum frame and weighs approximately 59 lbs, or 26.7 kg. It is rated for a total payload of up to 300 lbs, including the rider, bike, and cargo. That makes it a useful option for riders who plan to add bags, racks, or accessories for commuting and errands.

For comfort and control, Priority equipped the e-bike with a front suspension fork developed with SR Suntour, offering 100 mm of travel. This should help absorb bumps from rough roads, gravel paths, and uneven trails. The bike also features 27.5 x 2.4-inch tires, giving it added stability and grip compared with narrower commuter tires.

Braking is handled by 2-piston hydraulic disc brakes paired with 180 mm rotors at the front and rear. This setup is designed to provide dependable stopping power, especially important for a heavier electric bike capable of higher assisted speeds.

One of the standout features of the Priority E-Sauce is its Gates carbon belt drive. Unlike a traditional chain, the belt drive is cleaner, quieter, and built to require less maintenance over time. For commuters and everyday riders, that could mean fewer adjustments and less mess.

Priority has also designed the E-Sauce to work with useful add-ons. It supports accessories such as the company’s MIK-compatible rear rack for panniers and cargo, along with a new frame-mounted headway mount. These options make the bike more practical for grocery runs, work commutes, and longer rides where extra storage is needed.

Other features include integrated IPX5-rated LED lighting, a rear taillight, a frame-mounted rear kickstand, and a backlit display. The display shows key riding information such as speed, trip distance, odometer readings, and the selected assist level. Riders can choose from five pedal-assist modes to fine-tune the ride based on terrain, battery needs, and desired effort.

The Priority E-Sauce is available in small, medium, and large frame sizes, giving riders more flexibility when choosing the right fit. Pricing is set at $2,199, positioning it as a premium yet practical electric bike for those who want a low-maintenance commuter that can also handle rougher routes.

With its 750W motor, 60-mile claimed range, hydraulic disc brakes, belt drive system, and adventure-ready build, the Priority E-Sauce is aimed at riders looking for an electric bike that can move comfortably between pavement, gravel, and everyday transportation needs.
