Raleigh Unveils Sleek City E-Bike With Carbon Belt Drive and Built-In GPS

Raleigh has expanded its urban e-bike lineup with a new step-through version of the Raleigh One, giving city riders a more accessible frame design while keeping the same premium feel, connected features, and low-maintenance setup that defined the original step-over model.

The new Raleigh One ST is designed for everyday commuting, relaxed city rides, and riders who prefer easier mounting and dismounting. With its step-through frame, it is especially practical for stop-and-go urban cycling, riding in everyday clothing, or carrying bags and accessories around town. Raleigh is positioning the bike as a modern urban electric bicycle that blends the brand’s classic British cycling identity with smart technology and commuter-friendly engineering.

Power comes from a 250 W Mivice rear hub motor, which provides pedal assistance up to 15.5 mph, or 25 km/h. That makes it suitable for city commuting, leisure rides, and regular daily use while staying within standard e-bike assistance limits in many European markets.

The bike is fitted with a removable 360 Wh battery. According to Raleigh, riders can expect up to 80 km, or around 50 miles, of range in eco mode. In boost mode, the range is rated at up to 50 km, or about 31 miles. The removable battery design also makes charging more convenient, especially for riders who live in apartments or need to charge the battery indoors.

One of the standout features of the Raleigh One ST is its Gates carbon belt drive. Compared with a traditional chain, a belt drive is cleaner, quieter, and requires much less maintenance. It also avoids chain grease, making it a strong choice for commuters who want a reliable electric bike without regular drivetrain upkeep.

Raleigh has also added several practical features aimed at urban riders. The bike includes wide tires for added comfort and stability on uneven roads, while hydraulic disc brakes provide confident stopping power in different weather conditions. Riser handlebars give the rider a more upright position, improving comfort and visibility in traffic.

Lighting is another key part of the design. The Raleigh One ST comes with a smart-enabled wraparound rear light integrated into the bike, along with a dual front beam for better visibility. These features help improve safety during early morning commutes, evening rides, and low-light conditions.

The bike also supports connected riding through Raleigh’s companion app. An SP Connect phone mount is included, allowing riders to use the app hands-free while on the move. App-based features include alarm functionality, GPS location tracking, theft alerts, and auto-unlocking. These smart tools are intended to make the bike easier to manage and more secure for daily use.

Raleigh is also offering a membership system for additional connected features. The membership has three tiers: a free base plan, plus paid Core and Icon plans. The paid plans start at €7.99 and €14.99, respectively. Premium features include options such as sharing digital unlock access and other enhanced app functions.

The Raleigh One ST is priced at €2,399, making it €300 cheaper than the step-over version of the Raleigh One. Buyers can choose between teal and off-white color options.

With its step-through frame, carbon belt drive, removable battery, integrated lighting, GPS-enabled smart features, and commuter-focused design, the Raleigh One ST is aimed at riders looking for a stylish and practical electric city bike. It offers a strong mix of comfort, security, low maintenance, and modern connectivity for everyday urban mobility.
