Philips Unveils Evnia 27M2N5201P: A Lightning-Fast IPS Gaming Monitor Reaching 260Hz Refresh Rates

Philips is expanding its Evnia lineup with a new budget-friendly option aimed at competitive gamers who want a high refresh rate without paying premium prices. The Philips Evnia 27M2N5201P is a 27-inch IPS gaming monitor built for fast-paced play, offering a smooth experience that targets popular esports titles and everyday PC gaming setups alike.

At the heart of the Evnia 27M2N5201P is a fast IPS panel paired with a 1ms GtG response time, a combination designed to reduce motion blur and keep action looking crisp during quick flick shots and rapid camera movement. Out of the box, the monitor is rated for a 240Hz refresh rate, with an overclocking option that pushes it up to 260Hz. While the difference between 240Hz and 260Hz may be subtle for many people, players who are especially sensitive to motion smoothness can still appreciate the extra headroom.

This monitor uses a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution on a 27-inch screen. That setup is great for driving very high frame rates on mid-range GPUs and making the most of the high refresh rate, but it also means pixel density won’t be as sharp as a 24-inch 1080p display. Even so, Philips includes HDR10 support for more vivid visuals in compatible content, helping games and videos look more dynamic than standard SDR output.

For competitive performance features, the Evnia 27M2N5201P includes Adaptive Sync to reduce screen tearing and stuttering, along with low input lag tuning focused on responsiveness. Philips also bundles its Evnia Precision Center software, giving users a way to adjust display settings and tailor the monitor’s behavior to different games or preferences.

On the design side, Philips adds AI-Enhanced Ambiglow lighting on the rear of the monitor. This ambient RGB lighting can react to what’s happening on screen and even sync with audio and video content, creating a more immersive glow behind the display. Users can also customize the lighting effects to match their setup.

Connectivity is kept straightforward but practical for the target specs, with HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 included. That should be sufficient for running Full HD at up to 260Hz under the right conditions. Philips also includes an ergonomic stand with height, swivel, and tilt adjustments, making it easier to get a comfortable viewing position for long gaming sessions.

The Philips Evnia 27M2N5201P is scheduled to arrive at the end of April 2026, with a listed MSRP of £159.99 or $215.
