AOC Gaming 25G4ZR brings 260Hz esports performance to budget gamers
AOC has expanded its G4 gaming monitor lineup with the new AOC Gaming 25G4ZR, a 24.5-inch display designed for players who want fast refresh rates without paying a premium price. Aimed at competitive gamers and budget-conscious enthusiasts, the monitor delivers a compact esports-friendly size, a Fast IPS panel, and refresh rates of up to 260Hz.
The 24.5-inch screen size has long been popular among competitive players because it keeps the entire display within easy view, making it ideal for fast-paced titles such as shooters, battle royale games, and esports-focused multiplayer games. With its Full HD 1080p resolution, the AOC Gaming 25G4ZR focuses on speed, responsiveness, and smooth gameplay rather than pushing unnecessary pixels.
Out of the box, the monitor offers a 240Hz refresh rate, which is already a major upgrade over standard 60Hz, 75Hz, or 144Hz displays. For gamers who want even smoother motion, the panel can be overclocked to 260Hz. This higher refresh rate helps reduce motion blur and makes gameplay feel more responsive, especially in titles where quick reactions can make a real difference.
AOC has also equipped the Gaming 25G4ZR with a Fast IPS panel. This gives the monitor a strong balance of speed, color performance, and viewing angles. Fast IPS technology is especially useful for gamers who want quick pixel response times without giving up the visual quality often associated with IPS displays.
To further improve competitive performance, the AOC Gaming 25G4ZR includes a Low Input Lag mode. This feature is designed to reduce the delay between a player’s action and what appears on screen, helping create a more immediate and responsive gaming experience. For serious players, lower input lag can be just as important as a high refresh rate.
Comfort has also been considered. The monitor comes with an ergonomic stand that supports height adjustment from 0 to 130mm, along with tilt, swivel, and pivot options. These adjustments make it easier for users to find a comfortable setup, whether they are gaming for short sessions or spending hours at their desk.
AOC has included eye-care features as well, such as Flicker-Free technology and Low Blue Light mode. These additions are intended to reduce eye strain during long gaming or work sessions, making the display more practical for everyday use beyond gaming.
According to César Acosta, Senior Gaming Product Manager at AGON by AOC, the 24.5-inch format remains a key size for competitive gaming, and the G4 lineup now offers options ranging from 260Hz up to 420Hz. He described the 25G4ZR as the natural starting point for gamers who want the right size and real speed without the premium cost.
The AOC Gaming 25G4ZR is priced at £129.99, or around US$171 including tax, placing it firmly in the affordable gaming monitor category. With a 260Hz refresh rate, Fast IPS panel, ergonomic design, and gamer-focused features, it could become an attractive option for players looking to upgrade their setup without overspending.
The monitor is expected to go on sale next month.
