Samsung Galaxy Glasses Leak Reveals Gesture Controls, Physical Buttons, and Smart Features

Samsung Galaxy Glasses leak reveals gesture controls, camera button, LEDs, and charging case details

Samsung’s long-rumored Galaxy Glasses are starting to take shape, and a fresh leak has revealed some of the clearest details yet about how the upcoming smart glasses may work. Developed in partnership with Google, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster, the wearable is expected to run on Android XR with Samsung’s One UI XR interface, bringing the company’s extended reality ecosystem beyond headsets and into everyday eyewear.

The latest information appears to come from an early hands-on look at the Galaxy Glasses companion app. The app seems designed to act as the main control center for the glasses, allowing users to manage settings, monitor connected devices, and handle media captured through the eyewear.

Once paired, the Galaxy Glasses reportedly appear at the top of the app’s home screen. One of the key options shown is automatic importing for photos and videos taken with the glasses, which could make the experience feel similar to using a Galaxy phone camera, only with a hands-free perspective.

Other visible settings include Find my glasses, Read notifications aloud, AI assistants, and additional control options. However, deeper menus and advanced features were apparently locked without an active Galaxy Glasses connection, so there may still be more functions waiting to be discovered.

Samsung also appears to be building Galaxy Glasses as part of its wider wearable ecosystem. The leak suggests that Galaxy Watch users may get a dedicated Galaxy Glasses Controller app, while Galaxy Ring owners could control the glasses using hand gestures. If this integration launches as expected, Samsung could offer one of the most connected wearable experiences in the smart glasses market.

The leaked walkthroughs also reveal how users may interact with the Warby Parker edition of Galaxy Glasses. A touchpad on the right temple is said to support several simple gestures. A one-finger swipe can switch songs, while a two-finger swipe can adjust volume. A tap may handle play and pause controls or answer incoming calls.

There is also reportedly a physical camera button on the right temple. Pressing it once takes a photo, while pressing and holding starts video recording. This should make capturing quick moments easier without needing to pull out a smartphone.

Privacy indicators appear to be part of the design as well. The glasses are said to include LED lights on both the inside and outside of the frame. The internal LED lets the wearer know when the camera is active, while the external LED signals to people nearby that the camera is being used.

Captured photos and videos may also appear in the Now Bar on Galaxy phones, making it easier to access recent content. This could help Samsung create a smoother connection between Galaxy Glasses and its smartphones, especially for users already invested in the Galaxy ecosystem.

The charging case is another detail revealed in the leak. It reportedly includes an LED indicator for battery level and pairing status, which should make it easy to check whether the glasses are ready to use or need more charging time.

Samsung is expected to reveal its smart glasses later this year, possibly during a Galaxy Unpacked event rumored for July 22. If the leak is accurate, Galaxy Glasses could become one of Samsung’s most important wearable launches, combining Android XR, AI features, camera controls, gesture input, and deep Galaxy device integration in a stylish pair of smart glasses.
