Phantom Blade Zero Slips to October as Fans Await a Sharper Launch

Phantom Blade Zero release date moves to October 29, 2026, as S-GAME promises a more polished launch

S-GAME has announced that Phantom Blade Zero will launch later than originally planned. The highly anticipated action RPG has moved from its previous September 9, 2026 release date to October 29, 2026.

When it arrives, Phantom Blade Zero will be available on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC through Steam. The studio also confirmed that pre-orders are scheduled to open this summer, alongside a new trailer featuring fresh in-game footage.

The delay was revealed following the game’s latest appearance during State of Play, where fans got another look at its stylish combat and dark martial arts-inspired world. While the new date adds roughly 50 more days of waiting, S-GAME says the extra time will be used to make important improvements before launch.

According to the studio, Phantom Blade Zero has grown significantly since its first reveal in 2023. The team highlighted how the game has evolved through multiple public showings, including hands-on demos and gameplay showcases featuring techniques such as the Seven-Star Sword Formation, Lion Dance, and Drunken Sword.

S-GAME explained that the delay is not about changing the game’s direction, but about giving the team enough time to refine areas that will have a major impact on the day-one experience. The developer said it has upgraded several character models, reworked many environments, and improved the game’s overall visual presentation.

One key focus is making sure Phantom Blade Zero looks impressive even without relying on ray tracing. While ray tracing will enhance the game’s visuals for supported setups, S-GAME wants the core atmosphere, art direction, and intensity to stand out for as many players as possible.

The studio also noted that some of these upgrades could have been delivered after release through updates, but it believes players who buy Phantom Blade Zero at launch deserve the strongest version possible from the beginning.

Alongside the new release date, S-GAME teased more upcoming updates. A new trailer will arrive when pre-orders open this summer, showcasing entirely new gameplay footage. After that, the game will receive a dedicated State of Play presentation focused only on Phantom Blade Zero.

That future showcase is expected to run for around 15 to 20 minutes and will offer a deeper look at the game’s world, combat system, exploration, and character progression. The studio says most of the footage shown during that presentation will be brand-new.

Phantom Blade Zero has become one of the most closely watched upcoming action games thanks to its fast-paced swordplay, cinematic presentation, and blend of martial arts, dark fantasy, and stylish boss encounters. With its new October 29, 2026 release date, S-GAME is aiming to deliver a more refined and visually polished experience for both PS5 and PC players.
