Oppo Bubble Brings a Magnetic Selfie Screen to iPhones
Oppo’s playful Bubble selfie screen is getting a major upgrade: it now works with iPhones. The compact magnetic display, originally designed for select Oppo smartphones, gives users a clever way to preview selfies using a phone’s rear cameras, making it easier to capture sharper, higher-quality photos without relying only on the front camera.
The Oppo Bubble is a small circular AMOLED touchscreen that attaches magnetically to the back of a smartphone. Once connected, it acts as a secondary display, allowing users to frame shots while using the more powerful rear camera system. For anyone who takes selfies, vlogs, group shots, or social media content, this could be a fun and practical accessory.
The first version of the Bubble Trendy Selfie Screen was made for specific Oppo devices, including models from the Reno 16 and Find X9 series. Now, Oppo has introduced a new iPhone-compatible version that supports every iPhone from the iPhone X and newer.
Beyond selfie previews, the Oppo Bubble can also be used to display photos or videos, giving it a decorative side as well. It can be attached to a backpack, key ring, or other accessory, turning the tiny screen into a digital pendant when it is not connected to a phone.
The iPhone version also adds more flexibility when taking pictures. After pairing, users can take photos with either the front or rear cameras. It can stay attached magnetically to the phone, or it can be used separately as a remote shutter from up to 10 meters, or around 33 feet, away. That makes it useful for tripod shots, group photos, and hands-free content creation.
In terms of design, the iPhone-compatible Oppo Bubble keeps the same slim and lightweight build as the original. It measures only 7 mm thick and weighs 27.5 grams, making it easy to carry around without adding much bulk. The accessory includes a 550 mAh rechargeable battery and comes with extras such as a protective case and key ring.
The Oppo Bubble for iPhone is available for preorder in China at CNY 499, which is roughly $73. That is the same price as the original Oppo-only version. Shipping is scheduled to begin on July 6.
For now, Oppo has not confirmed whether the Bubble selfie screen will be released globally. If it does reach more markets, it could become an appealing accessory for iPhone users who want a more creative way to shoot selfies, record videos, or add a small customizable screen to their device.
