Oppo is preparing to introduce a new magnetic display accessory called the Oppo Bubble, scheduled to debut alongside the Reno 16 series on May 25, 2026. The accessory is designed to give compatible smartphones a second-screen experience similar to the rear display concept seen on the Xiaomi 17 Pro lineup.
The Oppo Bubble is a compact magnetic attachment that can snap onto the back of a supported phone and function as an additional touchscreen. It can also operate independently as a standalone accessory, making it more versatile than a simple phone add-on. Oppo is also expected to offer a carrying case for the device, making it easier to protect and transport when not attached to a handset.
According to newly shared details, the Oppo Bubble will feature a thin and lightweight design. The accessory reportedly weighs just 27.5 grams and measures only 7mm thick, which should help it blend more naturally with a smartphone rather than feeling bulky or awkward. This slim form factor could be one of its biggest advantages for users who want extra functionality without making their phone noticeably heavier.
The magnetic screen will use an AMOLED panel with touch support. By attaching the display to the back of a phone, users could use the rear cameras for selfies, vlogging, or video calls while viewing themselves on the secondary screen. The added light would help brighten faces in low-light environments, making the accessory appealing for content creators and social media users.
Leaked images also show a USB-C port on Honor’s magnetic display, suggesting that it will charge through a standard cable rather than requiring a special charging dock or proprietary connector.
