The OneXPlayer X1, leveraging Intel’s Core Ultra 7 155H chip, has made impressive strides in graphics performance, outperforming AMD’s latest integrated graphics solutions in synthetic benchmarks. The device’s Arc iGPU, with 8 cores, manifests its capabilities in 3DMark’s Time Spy test, achieving a remarkable score of 3,773 at 28 watts. This score notably eclipses that of the RDNA 3-based Radeon 780M iGPU used in competing models, such as the ROG Ally, which scores around 3,000 in the same benchmark.
Despite its stellar performance in synthetic GPU tests, the OneXPlayer X1 encounters some challenges when it comes to actual gaming. Users have reported inconsistent performance across different games, with some running smoothly while others are plagued by issues. These problems are suspected to be linked to current driver limitations from Intel, suggesting that better performance could be achievable with future updates.
Given the mixed results, some consumers may remain hesitant to fully endorse the OneXPlayer X1 until Intel addresses these driver concerns. Meanwhile, for those interested in the series, the R7 7840U OneXPlayer 2 Pro is available for purchase on retail platforms such as Amazon.
