OnePlus is pushing mobile gaming further with a new snap-on controller designed specifically for its high-end Android phone, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra. Built to connect directly through the phone’s USB port, the accessory aims to deliver a more handheld console-like feel without relying on Bluetooth, which can sometimes introduce input lag.
From the images, the controller appears to fully wrap around the Ace 6 Ultra, turning the phone into a compact gaming rig. OnePlus has included ergonomic grips for a steadier hold during longer play sessions, along with a set of triggers positioned to sit naturally under your index fingers. There’s also a pair of secondary buttons that OnePlus suggests are placed for quick access without shifting your grip—useful for games that benefit from extra mapped inputs.
A notable design choice is what’s missing: there are no traditional face buttons, no joystick, and no D-pad. Instead, this controller seems focused on trigger-style controls and additional buttons, which could appeal to certain game genres or players who rely heavily on on-screen controls but want better grip and more physical input options.
The accessory includes a USB Type-C port for pass-through charging, allowing you to keep the phone powered while you play—an important feature for graphically demanding games. OnePlus has also added a cutout intended to work with its new magnetic cooler, signaling this controller is part of a broader push toward a performance-focused mobile gaming setup.
Pricing in China is set at CNY 449 (around $65). For now, OnePlus hasn’t announced an international release, so availability outside China remains uncertain.
