A new OnePlus phone from the China-exclusive Ace lineup is reportedly on the way, and early details suggest it could deliver meaningful upgrades where many buyers care most: battery life, display smoothness, and raw performance.
According to a recent leak shared on Weibo by @PandaVeryBald, the upcoming model is expected to be called the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra and could launch as soon as April. While OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the device yet, the leaked specs point to a clear step up from 2025’s Ace 5 Ultra.
The biggest attention-grabber is the rumored 8,500mAh battery. If accurate, that’s a massive jump over the 6,700mAh capacity found in the previous generation. For users who prioritize long endurance—gaming sessions, travel days, or simply getting through heavy daily use without hunting for a charger—this could be one of the Ace 6 Ultra’s most compelling selling points.
The display is also tipped to get faster. The leak claims the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra will feature a 165Hz refresh rate, up from 144Hz on the Ace 5 Ultra. Higher refresh rates can make scrolling, animations, and fast-paced games feel noticeably smoother, especially for people who are sensitive to motion clarity. The exact display size and panel type weren’t mentioned, but it’s widely expected to remain an AMOLED screen, and a brightness improvement wouldn’t be surprising.
Performance could be another headline feature. The OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is rumored to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset. That processor is also said to power other top-tier 2026 smartphones, signaling that OnePlus may be aiming for flagship-level speed, efficient multitasking, and strong gaming performance in the Ace series.
However, the leak also hints at a familiar compromise: cameras may not be the main focus. The Ace 5 Ultra offered a 50MP main camera paired with an 8MP ultrawide, plus a 16MP front camera. If OnePlus sticks to a similar camera approach with the Ace 6 Ultra, it may deliver solid everyday photos but likely won’t compete with camera-centric premium phones that prioritize advanced sensors and imaging features.
For now, this is still early information, but the overall picture is clear: the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra is shaping up to target users who want a fast, smooth, long-lasting phone—especially gamers and power users—while leaving the most ambitious camera hardware to other devices.
