NVIDIA and Foxconn Collaborate to Launch a Massive AI Facility in Taiwan with 10,000 Blackwell GPUs

NVIDIA is set to build one of Taiwan’s largest AI supercomputers, leveraging the cutting-edge Blackwell architecture in collaboration with Foxconn. This ambitious project is poised to revolutionize the region’s AI landscape, empowering researchers, startups, and industries to harness unprecedented computing power.

In partnership with the Taiwan government, NVIDIA and Foxconn’s Hon Hai Technology Group are spearheading this initiative. Foxconn’s Big Innovation Company will deliver the AI infrastructure as an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, deploying 10,000 Blackwell GPUs. This AI hub aims to vastly expand Taiwan’s computational capabilities, driving forward innovation across various sectors.

The Taiwan National Science and Technology Council will utilize this advanced system to offer AI cloud computing resources within the local tech ecosystem, expediting AI progress and integration. Researchers from entities like TSMC plan to tap into this supercomputer, expecting a quantum leap in research speeds compared to older systems.

The AI facility will showcase NVIDIA’s Blackwell Ultra systems, enhanced by NVIDIA NVLink, Quantum InfiniBand, and Spectrum-X Ethernet networking. As part of its expansion, Big Innovation Cloud will join the NVIDIA DGX Cloud Lepton marketplace, opening up access to sophisticated GPU resources for a diverse range of enterprises, from startups to established industry titans. This is expected to propel AI development and deployment, facilitated by NVIDIA’s Inception program and Deep Learning Institute.

Foxconn aims to leverage this supercomputer to boost efficiency in its primary pillars: smart cities, electric vehicles, and manufacturing. For smart cities, the AI capabilities will optimize transport and civic resources, improving the quality of life. In the realm of electric vehicles, the tech will enhance driver-assistance systems and safety features. Meanwhile, in manufacturing, AI-driven insights and automation will be utilized to streamline processes and accelerate product development.

This initiative not only strengthens Taiwan’s position in the global AI arena but also underscores a vision of interconnected growth across industries, communities, and governmental bodies through AI integration.
