MSI is officially rolling out its refreshed 31.5-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor lineup, bringing the MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 to market with meaningful upgrades aimed at both picture quality and long-term panel care.
First shown at CES 2026, these two 32-inch-class displays are built around a new 5-layer Tandem OLED design paired with EL Gen 3 technology. The goal is simple: improve luminous efficiency while also enhancing longevity, two areas that matter a lot for QD-OLED gaming monitors that are pushed hard with high brightness, HDR, and long gaming sessions.
MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24: premium features for enthusiast gaming builds
Positioned as the more feature-rich option, the MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 adds MSI’s AI Care Sensor, designed to detect human presence and help protect the OLED panel in real time while keeping privacy intact. It’s also aimed at modern high-end PC setups with strong connectivity, including full-bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1a (UHBR20) and a USB Type-C port that supports up to 98W Power Delivery, making it easier to run a clean single-cable laptop-to-monitor setup. MSI also supports display customization through its Gaming Intelligence software, letting users adjust profiles and settings more conveniently.
MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24: a straightforward 4K QD-OLED upgrade path
The MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 targets gamers who want a 4K QD-OLED experience with solid burn-in prevention features. It includes MSI OLED Care 2.0 protections designed to reduce burn-in risk and support longer panel life. This model also includes USB Type-C connectivity, though with 15W Power Delivery intended for basic device support rather than full laptop charging.
Core gaming specs remain high-end: 4K at up to 240Hz with DisplayPort 2.1 support
In raw performance terms, MSI is keeping what already works for competitive and high-refresh 4K gaming. Both monitors offer up to a 240Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution and include DisplayPort 2.1 connectivity (with 80 Gbps-class support mentioned for the lineup), positioning them for high frame rate gaming, next-gen GPU compatibility, and smoother motion clarity in fast-paced titles.
What’s really new: DarkArmor Film and Uniform Luminance
The most notable updates come from the panel enhancements built into these refreshed QD-OLED models, focused on improving how the screen looks in real rooms and how HDR behaves across everyday content.
DarkArmor Film is designed to improve light absorption and reduce the purple or reddish tint that can appear on some QD-OLED screens under ambient lighting. MSI says it can boost pure black levels by up to 40%, which directly benefits contrast and perceived depth in darker scenes. It also improves durability by increasing surface hardness from 2H to 3H, delivering up to 2.5x better scratch resistance to help the display hold up to regular use.
Uniform Luminance targets a common HDR annoyance: brightness shifts that can feel abrupt depending on how much of the screen a bright element occupies. With this feature, users can customize the HDR brightness curve by linking certain brightness levels to different window sizes, helping the display maintain a more consistent, stable brightness across different scenarios.
Extra OLED protection on the MPG model with OLED Care 3.0 and AI enhancements
While both monitors focus on panel care, the MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 goes further with MSI OLED Care 3.0. This includes the AI Care Sensor approach and an NPU-based IC intended to proactively support panel protection actions over time, aligning the monitor with MSI’s latest OLED care strategy.
