Motorola is getting ready to expand its X70 Air lineup with a new Pro model, and early signs suggest it’s aiming to deliver a noticeable step up in power and features. The Moto X70 Air, known as the Motorola Edge 70 in some regions, already stands out in the mid-range smartphone market thanks to its ultra-thin build and surprisingly high-end specs. Now, Motorola says a “more Pro” version is on the way—and the first details hint at faster performance, quicker charging, and more AI-focused upgrades.
The current Moto X70 Air has made a name for itself by mixing sleek design with strong hardware. It measures about 0.24 inches thin, positioning it as an ultra-slim alternative for shoppers who want a premium look without jumping to the highest flagship prices. In Europe, it’s been listed around €799, and while it’s slightly thicker than Apple’s ultra-thin iPhone Air concept, it counters with a much larger 4,800mAh battery—an important advantage for anyone who cares about real-world runtime.
On the display side, Motorola went big: a 6.7-inch P-OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, plus an HDR peak brightness that reportedly reaches up to 4,500 nits. That kind of brightness can make a real difference for outdoor visibility and HDR video, putting it in territory that typically gets associated with more expensive phones.
Camera hardware is another highlight. The Moto X70 Air is described as having three 50MP cameras, including a 50MP main wide camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. That setup is designed to cover the most-used focal lengths with consistent resolution, appealing to users who prioritize social media shots, travel photos, and everyday versatility.
Now, Motorola has posted a teaser on Weibo that confirms the Moto X70 Air Pro is launching soon. The teaser doesn’t reveal a full design, but it emphasizes that the phone will be “more Pro” and will offer additional AI features. That wording strongly suggests more than just minor tuning—especially when paired with rumors pointing to a processor upgrade.
The standard Moto X70 Air is said to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, but the Pro model is rumored to use the newer Snapdragon 7+ Gen 5. If that turns out to be accurate, buyers can expect a meaningful jump in speed and efficiency, potentially pushing performance closer to last year’s flagship-level experience—better for gaming, camera processing, multitasking, and AI-powered tools.
One of the clearest early upgrades appears to be charging speed. A certification listing has reportedly revealed the Moto X70 Air Pro with model number XT2603-1, along with USB-C fast charging support up to 90W. That would be a sizeable improvement over the 67W charging associated with the Moto X70 Air, and it could translate into much faster top-ups for busy users who don’t want to stay tethered to a charger.
For now, Motorola hasn’t disclosed full specs, pricing, or international availability for the Moto X70 Air Pro. Still, with the official teaser already out and certification details surfacing, more information about the phone’s design, chipset, cameras, and AI features is likely to arrive within the next few days.
