Life360 is making it easier for families to protect their pets with a new line of scannable pet tags priced at $7.99, along with expanded pet care features inside its family safety and location-sharing app.
The company, best known for helping families share locations and stay connected, has been steadily moving deeper into pet safety. Its earlier GPS pet trackers use the tracking network technology Life360 gained after acquiring Tile in 2021, allowing users to locate not only family members, but also important belongings such as keys, bags, luggage, and pets.
Pet tracking has already become a major part of the platform. According to Life360, families have added more than 8 million pets to their accounts since the company introduced pet-focused tools.
The new scannable pet tags are designed for pet owners who want a simpler, lighter option than a full GPS tracker. Not every dog or cat needs a device with live location tracking, escape alerts, or geofencing. In many cases, owners simply want a reliable way for someone to contact them if their pet gets lost.
Life360’s new pet tags use a QR code that can be scanned by anyone who finds a missing pet. When the code is scanned, the pet owner’s contact information is shown, but Life360 adds an extra safety layer: the family also receives an alert through the Life360 app on their phones. The person who finds the pet does not need to download or use the app.
That feature could be especially helpful in stressful lost-pet situations. If a pet runs away again after being found, the family still receives the last scanned location, giving them a better chance of continuing the search in the right area.
Pet owners can update their contact details directly through the pet profile in the Life360 app, making it easier to keep information current without replacing the tag.
Alongside the new scannable tags, Life360 is adding more pet care tools for families. One of the biggest additions is care logs, which allow household members to track everyday pet responsibilities such as feeding, walking, giving medication, or cleaning the litter box.
These shared routines are visible to the whole family, helping prevent missed tasks or confusion over who last cared for the pet. For busy households, the feature could make daily pet care more organized and less dependent on reminders or group chats.
Life360 is also introducing “Zoomies Alerts” for its GPS pet trackers. This feature tracks bursts of pet activity during the day or evening, giving owners a playful way to understand when their pet is most energetic.
Another new addition, Weekly Roundup, summarizes pet activity and care patterns. Families can see details such as distance walked and which family member handled the most pet care during the week.
The company is also making its GPS pet trackers more accessible. Previously, Life360’s Pet GPS trackers were available only with higher-tier Platinum and Gold subscriptions. Now, they are included with the Silver bundle, which costs $99 per year.
Life360’s new scannable pet tags and GPS pet trackers are available through the company’s store and Amazon in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
With affordable QR pet tags, smarter family alerts, shared care logs, GPS tracking, and activity summaries, Life360 is positioning itself as more than a family location app. It is becoming a broader safety and care platform for the people, pets, and belongings that matter most.
