LG Unleashes XBoom Blast Speaker With 220W Power and Rugged IP68 Protection

LG XBoom Blast Launches Globally With 220W Sound, IP68 Protection, and Up to 36 Hours of Battery Life

LG has officially launched the XBoom Blast portable Bluetooth speaker for global markets, bringing a powerful new option to anyone looking for a rugged outdoor speaker built for parties, camping trips, beach days, and backyard gatherings.

First previewed earlier this year, the LG XBoom Blast is designed to combine loud audio, long battery life, and durable construction in a speaker that can handle real-world outdoor use. Its headline feature is a high-output sound system capable of delivering up to 220W of audio power when connected to an AC outlet. Even on battery power, the speaker still produces up to 210W, making it one of LG’s more powerful portable Bluetooth speaker options.

The speaker’s sound tuning was developed in collaboration with music artist and tech entrepreneur will.i.am. Inside, the XBoom Blast uses two 5.25-inch neodymium woofers and two 20mm tweeters from Danish audio brand Peerless. This setup is built to deliver deep bass, strong volume, and clearer high frequencies for outdoor environments where smaller speakers often struggle.

LG has also added several intelligent audio features to help the speaker adapt to different spaces. AI Sound analyzes audio in real time and adjusts playback automatically, while Space Calibration Pro fine-tunes the output based on the surrounding environment. Sound Field Enhance is included to create a wider soundstage, helping music feel more spacious whether the speaker is placed in a garden, on a patio, or at a campsite.

Battery life is another major selling point. The XBoom Blast is equipped with a replaceable 99Wh battery that can provide up to 36 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. LG’s Play Time Enhance technology is designed to optimize power use, making the speaker suitable for long outdoor sessions without needing to stay near a power outlet.

Durability is a key part of the design. The LG XBoom Blast carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, meaning it is built to survive tough outdoor conditions. It has also passed seven military-grade durability tests, according to LG. Protective side bumpers and a rugged fabric exterior help shield the speaker from bumps, drops, and travel wear.

The design takes inspiration from a weekend duffel bag and has already received a 2026 Red Dot Design Award. LG has included a two-way carrying system with both a top handle and a flexible rope handle, allowing users to carry and place the speaker vertically or horizontally depending on the situation.

For connectivity, the XBoom Blast supports Bluetooth wireless streaming and wired playback through USB-C. It also includes Auracast support, allowing multiple compatible speakers to be connected wirelessly for a bigger audio setup. An AI Lighting system adds Dual Ring Lighting effects that sync with the music, giving the speaker a more dynamic look during parties or nighttime use.

The LG XBoom Blast will begin rolling out in select markets this month, with wider availability expected later in the year. LG has not yet announced official pricing, but with its 220W output, IP68 protection, long-lasting replaceable battery, and advanced audio tuning, the XBoom Blast is clearly aimed at users who want a premium portable Bluetooth speaker for serious outdoor entertainment.
