LG Introduces 32GX870B: A 32-Inch 4K Tandem OLED Monitor with 240Hz Speed and a 480Hz Mode

LG is preparing to make a big splash at CES 2026 with a new UltraGear evo gaming monitor that pushes its OLED lineup into sharper, faster territory. The company has confirmed it will showcase the UltraGear evo 32GX870B, a 32-inch 4K gaming monitor that becomes LG’s first model to pair a 4K resolution with its newer Tandem OLED panel technology.

What makes the LG 32GX870B especially notable is the panel inside. LG’s “Primary RGB Tandem OLED” approach (a four-stack OLED structure) has previously been seen in 1440p gaming monitors, but this upcoming release is positioned as the first 4K gaming monitor built around that newer panel design. For shoppers who have been waiting for the jump from 1440p to true 4K in this panel family, this is the upgrade that matters.

A 32-inch screen running at 3840 x 2160 should deliver a crisp image that’s well-suited for both competitive play and cinematic single-player games. LG’s early details point to roughly 138 pixels per inch, which is a noticeable step up in sharpness compared with the common 27-inch 1440p format many gamers use today. In practical terms, that means cleaner text, more defined UI elements, and finer detail in games without needing aggressive sharpening.

Color and HDR specs also suggest LG is aiming for a premium OLED gaming experience. The monitor is listed with 99.5% DCI-P3 color coverage and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. That combination typically signals wide color performance with the deep blacks and contrast OLED is known for, plus more convincing highlights in HDR-friendly games and media.

Speed is another headline feature. LG says the UltraGear evo 32GX870B will run at a native 240 Hz refresh rate at 4K, delivering the kind of fluid motion high-end PC gamers want without sacrificing resolution. It also supports an even higher 480 Hz mode when running at 1080p, giving esports-focused players a path to ultra-high frame rates when absolute responsiveness matters more than pixel count. LG also mentions AI-powered upscaling designed to help lower-resolution content look closer to 4K, which could be useful when switching between performance-focused settings and visual fidelity.

Connectivity appears to be ready for next-gen PCs and consoles. The monitor is slated to include DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90 W Power Delivery. LG also notes that gamers should be able to reach the maximum refresh rate over DisplayPort without relying on Display Stream Compression (DSC), which is a welcome detail for enthusiasts who want the cleanest signal path possible.

For now, LG hasn’t announced price or a release window beyond its CES 2026 showcase plans. More detailed specifications are also still under wraps, but the confirmed combination of a 32-inch 4K screen, Tandem OLED panel tech, 240 Hz at 4K, and 480 Hz at 1080p already positions the LG UltraGear evo 32GX870B as one of the most talked-about OLED gaming monitor launches heading into 2026.
