Lenovo ThinkCentre X Desktop Heads Toward US Launch With Up to 256GB RAM and Dual RTX 5060 Ti GPUs
Lenovo is preparing to bring its powerful ThinkCentre X desktop to the United States, giving workstation users, creators, engineers, and business buyers a new high-performance tower option. The 34-liter desktop has already appeared in several international markets, and Lenovo’s US product page now lists it as “Coming Soon.”
The ThinkCentre X was first introduced as a premium desktop PC designed for demanding professional workloads. It is built for users who need serious computing power, whether for content creation, data-heavy productivity, AI-assisted workflows, 3D modeling, software development, or multitasking across complex applications.
According to Lenovo’s US listing, the ThinkCentre X will be available with high-end Intel Core Ultra processors, large memory configurations, and dedicated Nvidia graphics. The top listed CPU option is the Intel Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, although that chip has reportedly been discontinued by Intel. Other listed processor choices include the 24-core Intel Core Ultra 9 285 vPro and the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus with vPro support.
Graphics options for US buyers appear to differ from earlier expectations. While the desktop was initially associated with configurations reaching up to an RTX 5090, Lenovo’s current US listing shows options for either a single Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB or dual RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPUs. That should still make the ThinkCentre X a strong choice for GPU-accelerated workloads, including rendering, video editing, design software, and advanced productivity tasks.
Memory support is another major highlight. Lenovo lists configurations with up to 256GB of DDR5-6400 CUDIMM RAM or up to 128GB of DDR5-5600 UDIMM memory. For professionals handling massive files, large datasets, or multiple virtual machines, the higher-capacity memory option could be one of the desktop’s biggest selling points.
The ThinkCentre X also supports powerful internal configurations, including high-wattage power supply options. In the UK, one premium configuration includes an Intel Core Ultra 9 285 vPro processor, 256GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, a 1200W power supply, and a single RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPU. That setup is priced at £10,480, which converts to roughly $13,959. The starting price in the UK is listed at £2,530, or about $3,370.
US pricing has not been announced yet, so buyers will need to wait for Lenovo to confirm final availability and cost. However, based on international pricing, the ThinkCentre X is clearly aimed at the premium business and workstation segment rather than the budget desktop market.
With its large memory capacity, high-end Intel Core Ultra CPU options, professional-focused design, and dedicated Nvidia graphics choices, the Lenovo ThinkCentre X could become an appealing desktop for power users who need a reliable machine for heavy workloads. Its upcoming US launch should give businesses and professionals another strong option in the high-performance desktop PC category.
