Sony Confirms 9 PlayStation Plus Games Departing in August 2026

Sony has confirmed the next group of games set to leave the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in August 2026, and subscribers may want to prioritize a few downloads before time runs out.

The PlayStation Plus Game Catalog remains one of the biggest perks for Extra and Premium members, offering access to a rotating library of games without an additional purchase. Every month, Sony refreshes the catalog with new additions, giving players more options across action, adventure, RPG, strategy, and indie titles. However, that monthly refresh also means some games are removed from the service.

In August 2026, nine games are currently scheduled to leave the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. The removal date is August 18, so subscribers have just over three weeks to play through any titles they have been saving for later.

The games leaving PlayStation Plus in August 2026 are:

Dead Island 2

Harold Halibut

Space Crew: Legendary Edition

Earth Defense Force 6

Roki

Unicorn Overlord

Onee Chanbara Origin

Bomber Crew

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos

Dead Island 2 is likely to be one of the biggest departures for many subscribers. The zombie action RPG has remained a popular choice for players who enjoy fast-paced combat, open-ended exploration, and chaotic co-op gameplay. Earth Defense Force 6 is another notable title leaving the lineup, especially for fans of over-the-top sci-fi action and large-scale battles against alien threats.

Unicorn Overlord is also worth highlighting, as it offers a tactical RPG experience with strategic battles, fantasy storytelling, and a strong visual style. Meanwhile, Harold Halibut, Roki, and Clash: Artifacts of Chaos bring more unusual and story-driven experiences to the catalog, making them good picks for players looking for something different before the August deadline.

Once these games are removed from PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, subscribers will no longer be able to access them through the Game Catalog. Anyone who wants to continue playing after August 18 will need to buy the games separately from the PlayStation Store or another retailer.

It is also possible that Sony could update the removal list before the end of the month, though only these nine titles have been confirmed so far. PlayStation Plus members should keep an eye on the “Last Chance to Play” section on their console to make sure they do not miss any additional departures.

While losing several games may be disappointing, Sony is expected to add a new batch of titles to PlayStation Plus around the same period. That means Extra and Premium subscribers should still have fresh games to explore in August, even as these older catalog entries rotate out.

For now, anyone interested in Dead Island 2, Earth Defense Force 6, Unicorn Overlord, or any of the other departing titles should make them a priority before August 18, 2026.
