Lenovo X1 Laptop Debuts In China With Domestic Zhaoxin KX-6000G Chip & 2.8K OLED Display 1

Lenovo X1 Laptop Launches in China Featuring Zhaoxin KX-6000G Processor & Stunning 2.8K OLED Screen

In an exciting development for the tech landscape in China, Zhaoxin’s KX-6000G CPU has made a noteworthy appearance in the new Lenovo X1 laptop, a product primarily targeted at the domestic Chinese audience. This isn’t just any ordinary laptop; it comes with a design that champions portability, tipping the scales at just 0.99 kilograms and sleekly measuring a little over one centimeter in thickness.

Unlike the conventional laptops that house Intel or AMD processors, the Lenovo X1 takes a refreshing route by integrating Zhaoxin’s own KX-6000G processor. Although this CPU was initially launched two years back, it hadn’t quite penetrated mainstream desktop systems due to performance constraints compared to its Intel and AMD counterparts. Despite this, Lenovo has decided to embrace this processor in the X1, while still offering options with Intel or AMD processors for consumers in China.

Zhaoxin touts the Lenovo X1 as a laptop designed to cater to ‘high performance’ needs, primarily focusing on everyday productivity tasks. While it may not promise top-notch performance, it is surely equipped to handle basic computing demands. Early benchmarks suggest that its performance mirrors that of an Intel Core i5 5015U, achieving 1035 points in a multithreaded Geekbench 5 test.

Aesthetically, the Lenovo X1 bears a striking resemblance to the well-known Thinkpad X1, crafted with an exterior of durable carbon fiber. Its featherweight and ultra-thin build are complemented by an OLED display, promising crisp and vibrant visuals with a 2.8K resolution. Further enhancing its appeal, the laptop is fitted with a top-quality camera on the top bezel, complete with privacy and security features perfect for the modern user.

The laptop’s functionality is further boosted by a responsive LED-backlit keyboard, offering users the flexibility of three adjustable brightness levels. While specific details on RAM and storage remain under wraps, the anticipation surrounding its performance and comparison with other entry-level lightweight laptops is palpable. However, it’s key to remember that direct competition is unlikely due to the processor’s current limitations.

The KX-6000G processor boasts 4 cores and 4 threads, with a clock speed of 3.3 GHz, and a capable integrated GPU that supports DX12, OpenCL1.2, OpenGL4.6, and up to 4K display output. On the horizon, Zhaoxin has also introduced the KX-7000G this year, narrowing the gap with Intel’s Core i3 10100, marking a promising stride in their pursuit of faster and more capable processors.
