Lenovo has introduced the Legion R9000P, a new 16-inch gaming laptop that could mark an important shift for high-refresh-rate OLED gaming machines. The highlight is its inkjet-printed OLED display, a panel technology that Lenovo says makes the Legion R9000P the world’s first gaming laptop of its kind.
The display is supplied by TCL CSOT and brings premium gaming-focused specs, including a 240Hz refresh rate and up to 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut. That combination should make the laptop appealing to players who want fast response, smooth motion, deep contrast, and vibrant color reproduction in a portable gaming system.
Inkjet-printed OLED, often shortened to IJP OLED, is beginning to move beyond prototypes and into real consumer products. The technology is gaining attention because it offers a different manufacturing approach compared with traditional OLED production. Instead of relying on vacuum thermal evaporation, inkjet printing can potentially simplify production, reduce material waste, and lower manufacturing costs.
