A new leak suggests Zepp Health may be getting ready to launch the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2, a premium rugged smartwatch positioned above the brand’s existing outdoor-focused lineup. The news lands shortly after Zepp Health introduced several new wearables in recent weeks, signaling that the company’s release calendar is still moving fast.
The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 name reportedly shows up multiple times inside the software code tied to a recent Zepp app update. The update (version 9.16.2) rolled out for both iOS and Android on January 6 and, on the surface, only mentions bug fixes in its official change log. However, the repeated appearance of “Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2” behind the scenes is a strong clue that the device is in active development and could be nearing an announcement.
While the leak doesn’t reveal specs, the original Amazfit T-Rex Ultra (released in 2023) gives a good idea of what “Ultra” has meant for the series so far. That model features a 47 mm case and a bright AMOLED display rated up to 1,000 nits, aimed at visibility outdoors. It also focuses heavily on navigation and adventure tools, including dual-band GPS, contour maps, and turn-by-turn navigation.
On the fitness side, the T-Rex Ultra supports more than 160 sports modes and includes a broad set of health and workout tracking features. It’s also built for demanding environments, with support for free diving up to 30 meters, an advertised battery life up to 20 days, and operation in extreme cold down to -30°C (-22°F). If the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 follows that blueprint, it may bring refinements to durability, navigation accuracy, battery efficiency, or display performance—though nothing is confirmed yet.
For now, the biggest unanswered questions are timing and price. Zepp Health hasn’t officially announced the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2, and there’s no confirmed launch window. Pricing is also unknown, but the prior model debuted with a suggested retail price of $399, which provides a useful benchmark for what a next-generation premium outdoor smartwatch from Amazfit might cost.
