Amazfit T-Rex Trio Gets a Major Firmware Upgrade with New Enhancements

Amazfit T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2 receive major firmware update with Hyrox, cycling, music, and navigation upgrades

Amazfit is rolling out a new firmware update for three of its rugged outdoor smartwatches: the Amazfit T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2. The update arrives as firmware version 6.3.25.7 and, despite being only 16.5MB in size, brings a useful collection of improvements for athletes, outdoor users, and everyday smartwatch owners.

The latest Amazfit T-Rex firmware update focuses on four key areas: Hyrox training, indoor cycling support, music management, and navigation. For users who rely on their watch during structured workouts or outdoor adventures, this update should make the experience smoother and more informative.

One of the biggest additions is enhanced Hyrox workout tracking. When paired with the Amazfit Helio Strap Pro, the T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2 can now provide more detailed workout analysis. Users can start a Hyrox race or simulation directly from the watch, while the device records important performance data such as movement counts, movement frequency, and heart-rate trends.

After the workout, the watch and companion app can provide deeper insights, including pace changes and training suggestions for individual Hyrox stations. This should be especially helpful for athletes who want to fine-tune their performance and better understand where they are gaining or losing time during a session.

Amazfit has also made device pairing easier. If the Helio Strap Pro is already connected to the same Zepp Health account, the supported T-Rex models can automatically link to it. This removes some of the setup friction and makes it faster to begin training.

Indoor cycling also gets a meaningful upgrade thanks to support for the FTMS standard. With this feature, the Amazfit T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2 can connect to compatible smart trainers and spin bikes. Once connected, users can view key cycling metrics directly on the watch, including power, cadence, speed, and distance.

The update also adds calibration options with support for both metric and imperial units. This makes the watches more flexible for cyclists in different regions and improves their usefulness for indoor training sessions, especially when paired with modern fitness equipment.

Music control is becoming more convenient as well. Instead of organizing songs and playlists on the smartwatch’s small display, users can now manage playlists through the Zepp Health app. The option can be found in the app under Device, then Device Application Settings, then Music.

This is a practical improvement for anyone who stores music on their watch for workouts, runs, hikes, or gym sessions. Managing playlists from a phone is faster, easier, and far less frustrating than navigating through a compact watch interface.

A new Athlete Defaults setting has also been added. This feature can apply training-focused preferences automatically, including Workout Do Not Disturb. For users who want fewer interruptions while exercising, this should make it easier to keep their watch ready for focused training.

Navigation has received smaller but still useful refinements. Amazfit has improved the readability of the route elevation chart, making it easier to understand upcoming climbs and descents at a glance. This is particularly valuable for hikers, trail runners, and cyclists who depend on elevation data during long routes.

The Advance Up map view has also been improved. When zooming in, the map can now automatically rotate based on the wearer’s heading. This should make navigation feel more natural and easier to follow, especially when moving through unfamiliar trails or outdoor routes.

The firmware 6.3.25.7 rollout is currently underway for the Amazfit T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2. As usual with smartwatch updates, availability may vary by region and device, so some users may need to wait before it appears in the Zepp Health app.

Overall, this is a compact but feature-rich update that strengthens the Amazfit T-Rex lineup for serious fitness users. With better Hyrox tracking, smart trainer support for indoor cycling, easier playlist management, and improved navigation tools, the T-Rex 3, T-Rex 3 Pro, and T-Rex Ultra 2 continue to become more capable training and adventure watches.
