Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra Update Adds Hyrox Training Tools, Smarter Energy Tracking, and Better Navigation
Amazfit has released a major software update for the Cheetah 2 Ultra, bringing new training features for Hyrox athletes, improved energy and recovery insights, and useful navigation upgrades for trail runners and outdoor fitness fans.
The standout addition is expanded Hyrox support. With this update, the Zepp app now includes an official Hyrox Workout Library, giving users structured training templates that can be synced directly to the Cheetah 2 Ultra. This makes it easier for athletes to follow event-focused workouts without manually setting up each session on the watch.
Amazfit has also added Hyrox Virtual Pace, a new tool designed to help users manage their speed during race-style workouts. It allows athletes to compare their real-time pacing against a target time, making it useful for anyone preparing for a specific Hyrox finish goal. Users can find the feature on the watch by going to Workout, then More, and selecting Hyrox Virtual Pace.
The update also introduces Hyrox simulation workouts, including Full Course, Half Course, and other event-specific formats. These simulation modes are aimed at helping athletes train in conditions that better reflect the structure and intensity of an actual Hyrox race.
Beyond race preparation, the Cheetah 2 Ultra now benefits from Amazfit’s new HybridCharge Energy Intelligence system. This upgraded energy monitoring feature combines BioCharge, LifeLoad, and Training Load into one more complete readiness system. Instead of focusing only on workouts, it looks at training effort, recovery, and daily stress to give users a broader understanding of their current physical state.
Recovery recommendations have also been improved. The watch can now offer more specific guidance on how long users should rest before taking on high-intensity, medium-intensity, or low-intensity exercise. This should help athletes train more effectively while reducing the risk of overtraining.
Navigation has received several practical improvements as well. Before starting a workout, users can now see a route preview image on the preparation screen, making it easier to confirm the planned path before heading outdoors.
Map scale accuracy has also been refined, with new options including 2 km, 750 m, 200 m, and 75 m. These added scale levels should make route tracking and map reading more precise, especially during trail runs, hikes, and longer outdoor sessions.
Amazfit has also optimized terrain map rendering when map data has not been downloaded, improving the overall navigation experience in areas where full offline maps may not be available.
Another small but useful change affects status indicators. These indicators now briefly appear on the watch face before moving to the Control Center, helping users quickly notice important watch states without cluttering the main display.
Overall, this Cheetah 2 Ultra update makes Amazfit’s flagship trail running watch more capable for Hyrox training, endurance planning, and outdoor navigation. With structured workouts, race simulation tools, smarter recovery data, and improved maps, the update adds meaningful value for runners, hybrid athletes, and fitness-focused users who want more detailed guidance from their smartwatch.
