Zepp OS 6 Arrives: Amazfit Smartwatches Get a Smarter, Smoother Upgrade

Zepp OS 6 begins rolling out to Amazfit smartwatches with smarter training and wellness features

Zepp Health has started rolling out Zepp OS 6, the latest version of its smartwatch operating system for Amazfit devices. The new software arrives roughly a year after Zepp OS 5 and brings a stronger focus on fitness intelligence, recovery tracking, workout planning, and easier day-to-day usability.

One of the biggest additions in Zepp OS 6 is HybridCharge, a new feature designed to give users a clearer picture of their body’s readiness and energy levels. It expands on the existing BioCharge Energy Monitoring system by adding more real-life context, helping users better understand when to push harder and when to slow down.

HybridCharge uses tools such as LifeLoad, which allows users to log factors that can affect performance, including stress, alcohol intake, travel, and other lifestyle influences. Users can also record their Rate of Perceived Exertion after workouts, helping the system fine-tune its readings and deliver a more accurate HybridCharge score.

Another useful upgrade is Boundary Reminders. This feature can alert users when their body may be approaching its limit during exercise. For athletes, runners, cyclists, and everyday fitness users, this could make workouts safer and more effective by encouraging smarter pacing and recovery.

Zepp OS 6 also introduces deeper performance insights for more advanced training. Users can now access customizable LTHR zones, which stand for Lactate Threshold Heart Rate zones. These can help athletes train with more precision by identifying intensity levels that match their fitness goals.

Elevation charts have also been improved, giving outdoor runners, hikers, and cyclists better visibility into climbs, descents, and route difficulty. This makes the software more useful for users who train outdoors or participate in endurance activities.

Amazfit smartwatches running Zepp OS 6 also gain expanded compatibility with third-party fitness equipment. This includes support for devices such as rowing machines and indoor cycling sensors, making the watches more useful for gym-based training and indoor workouts.

Training features have been reorganized into a more complete system. Plans, courses, race strategies, and recovery metrics are now connected more closely, giving users a clearer view of their overall fitness progress. Training plans and workout history also sync to the same calendar, making it easier to review past sessions and prepare for upcoming activities.

Beyond fitness upgrades, Zepp OS 6 also focuses on making Amazfit smartwatches easier to use. The interface is designed to highlight important information more clearly, with a cleaner layout and better visual hierarchy. This should help users find key health, workout, and notification details faster.

A new Launcher has been added as well, giving quicker access to apps, notifications, and shortcuts. This should make daily navigation smoother, especially for users who frequently switch between fitness tracking, messages, widgets, and smartwatch tools.

Other practical additions include a system-level notification switch, allowing users to manage alerts more easily, and a device lock feature for added privacy and security.

Zepp Health has also replaced the older Morning Update feature with Daily Briefing. Instead of only showing information in the morning, Daily Briefing provides reports in both the morning and evening. This gives users a better overview of their day, including wellness data, activity progress, and recovery-related insights.

At launch, Zepp OS 6 is available for the new Amazfit Balance 3 and Amazfit Balance Ultra smartwatches. However, some features from the new software have already reached older Amazfit models running Zepp OS 5, giving more users access to selected upgrades without needing the latest hardware.

With Zepp OS 6, Amazfit smartwatches are becoming more capable training companions. The update brings smarter energy tracking, improved workout guidance, expanded equipment support, better performance analysis, and a more refined interface. For users focused on health, recovery, and structured fitness progress, this is shaping up to be one of the most important Amazfit software updates yet.
