Hideo Kojima’s Kojima Productions has teamed up with ASUS Republic of Gamers for a striking, Ludens-inspired limited edition lineup that blends premium gaming hardware with the studio’s unmistakable “From Sapiens to Ludens” identity. Revealed during CES 2026, the collaboration introduces a special version of the ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet alongside a matched set of peripherals, all carrying the rallying cry “For Ludens Who Dare.” Pricing and full availability details haven’t been shared yet, but early whispers point to a launch window in the first quarter of 2026.
At the heart of this collaboration is the creative direction of Yoji Shinkawa, Kojima Productions’ lead artist and character designer. Shinkawa personally shaped the look and feel of the entire collection, bringing Ludens’ astronaut-inspired aesthetic into the real world through bold angles, sharp cutouts, carbon-fiber-like accents, and a high-contrast color scheme of white, gold, and grey. As Shinkawa put it, the goal was to make something that feels like it truly “belongs to Ludens,” carrying that essence directly into the PC hardware design.
The centerpiece is the ROG Flow Z13-KJP, a flexible 2-in-1 gaming tablet built to look as futuristic as it performs. Under the hood, it’s powered by AMD’s AI Max+ 935 “Strix Halo” platform and pairs that performance with a 13.4-inch ROG Nebula display featuring a 2.5K resolution and a fast 180Hz refresh rate—an ideal combination for high-frame-rate gaming and smooth everyday use. ASUS also gives the tablet a distinctive functional twist with a detachable keyboard design that includes extended protrusions meant to support your arms and wrists, adding both comfort and a visually aggressive silhouette. To reinforce the Kojima Productions vibe, the bundle includes a rugged white carrying case that channels the utilitarian cargo aesthetic many fans will instantly associate with Death Stranding.
The Ludens theme continues across the accessory lineup. The ROG Keris II Origin-KJP gaming mouse is designed for lightweight, competitive play with an ergonomic shape, a 65g build, a 42,000 DPI ROG AimPoint Pro sensor, and ROG Optical Micro Switches. Visually, it leans hard into the collaboration’s signature palette: a white shell, blacked-out click buttons, gold scroll wheel and gold accents, plus prominent “For Ludens who Dare” branding that makes it clear this isn’t a standard release.
For audio, the collaboration introduces the ROG Delta II-KJP headset. It features 50mm titanium-plated drivers and a super-wideband microphone, aiming to deliver both punchy in-game sound and clear voice chat. A gold Ludens logo sits on the ear cups, paired with textured surfaces and a gold hinge detail for extra flair. There’s also a playful warning etched onto the left cup: “CAUTION: Comfort may lead to just one more gaming syndrome.”
Rounding things out is the ROG Scabbard II XL-KJP mouse mat, a desk-dominating 900 x 400mm surface built from soft-touch cloth with a non-slip rubber base. While it’s the simplest item in the collection, it may be the most visually direct expression of the crossover: the top surface features Ludens-inspired artwork crafted by Shinkawa, tying the entire set together as a cohesive, display-worthy setup.
For now, ASUS and Kojima Productions are keeping the biggest questions—exact pricing, release date, and region-by-region availability—tightly under wraps. Still, with CES 2026 as the stage and a Q1 2026 release rumored, this limited edition ROG x Kojima Productions drop looks poised to become one of the most wanted gaming gear collaborations of the year, especially for fans who want their PC setup to look as bold and cinematic as the games they play.
