Kejora, the Indonesian narrative-driven platformer, has shifted its launch to January 8, 2026, to avoid competing with the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong. The team says the move is about giving their game the space and attention it deserves when it finally lands in players’ hands.
Originally slated for September 4, 2025—the same day Silksong is expected—Kejora’s release now arrives a few months later with a broader rollout. In addition to Windows PC, the game is planned for Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Publisher Soft Source and developer Berangin Creative emphasized their respect for the Hollow Knight series and explained that launching alongside such a juggernaut could overshadow a more intimate, story-first indie like Kejora. Their goal is to ensure the game’s heartfelt narrative and distinct identity reach the widest audience possible.
Kejora has been in development since 2021 and has evolved significantly over time. What began as a run-and-gun side-scroller has grown into a narrative puzzle-platforming adventure that celebrates Southeast Asian roots and artistry. That transformation—and the team’s commitment to telling a resonant story—has already struck a chord with players across the region.
The developers thanked fans for their support, wishlists, and patience, noting that the extra time allows them to launch across more platforms on the same day. It’s a strategic decision that also reflects a larger trend in indie publishing: timing matters, especially when sharing release schedules with one of the most anticipated games in the industry.
If you’ve been following Kejora, mark your calendar for January 8, 2026. With its refined focus on narrative and puzzles, expanded platform lineup, and strong cultural roots, the game is positioning itself for a debut that won’t be drowned out—and one that could become one of next year’s standout indie releases.
