Arc System Works has unveiled an exciting new trailer for “River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next,” showcasing dynamic gameplay elements and other enticing features of this nostalgic historical action game.
In “River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next,” our favorite hero, Kunio, takes on the role of Guan Yu, journeying through the tumultuous warring states of ancient China. The storyline picks up in the aftermath of the iconic Battle of Red Cliffs and climaxes at the fierce Battle of Wuzhang Plains. The game boasts a grand total of 100 distinctive River City characters, promising a narrative filled with unexpected comic twists.
The game features a never-before-seen twist on the classic “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” story. As Liu Bei’s army swells with new generals, Cao Cao’s forces grow stronger in response. Kunio and his friends will present this age-old tale in an alternative, humorous retelling that players have never experienced before.
One of the standout features is the ability to ride Red Hare, historically considered the fastest horse, though here it takes the form of a bike! Players can barrel through stages, mowing down any opponents in their path. Red Hare isn’t just any bike; it comes with customizable parts that allow you to enhance its appearance and capabilities. Word around the game is that there are even special parts that can transform your Red Hare into something extraordinary.
The game also introduces spectacular tactics and special attacks. True to the Three Kingdoms’ warfare lore, iconic tactics like the fire and water tactics make their return, enabling players to unleash fiery arrows or flood their enemies. There’s a new twist: you can summon past generals to fight at your side. By employing special attacks and tactics, you can clear stages with the might and strategy reminiscent of legendary generals.
“River City Saga: Three Kingdoms Next” is set for a global release on November 7th, available on Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
This release invites gamers to immerse themselves in a world where history meets humor, strategy blends with beat-’em-up action, and legendary battles are given a fresh, entertaining twist.
