Intel is gearing up to make waves in the mainstream GPU market with a new addition to its Battlemage lineup. The company plans to release the Arc B770, a desktop GPU rumored to already be in production, with a retail launch expected next quarter.
Although Intel’s desktop GPU releases haven’t matched the frequency of rivals like AMD and NVIDIA, the company remains dedicated to expanding its offerings. Previously, Intel introduced the Arc B570 and B580 in late 2024, which garnered attention as competitive mid-tier options at the time. However, with AMD’s RX 9060 and NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 series on the horizon, Intel is poised to catch up with the anticipated Arc Battlemage B770, based on the “BMG-G31” silicon.
Reports emerged after shipping manifests showed that the BMG-G31 silicon had been dispatched to an Intel facility in Vietnam, suggesting preparations for the Arc B770 are underway. This facility is known for producing limited edition variants of Intel’s GPUs, which indicates that the new Battlemage GPU could be unveiled soon. The BMG-G31 is designed for higher-tier models, and with the completion of Intel’s B5XX series, the launch of the next iteration seems imminent.
Renowned leaker OneRaichu has also hinted at the impending release of the Arc B770, heightening excitement around the Battlemage series. Speculation suggests that this model might feature 24-32 Xe2 cores, a 256-bit memory bus, and 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. However, it’s worth noting that this silicon could also find use in AI or professional GPUs, so concrete details are still under wraps.
An official announcement may be on the horizon at Computex 2025, kicking off in a few weeks. It remains to be seen how Intel, affectionately known as Team Blue, will execute its strategy, but anticipation is building for a significant reveal.
