Dual Fan Design Unveiled: Meet the PNY RTX 5060 OC

The highly anticipated GeForce RTX 5060 OC edition is set to make its official debut later this month. However, it has already caught the eye of potential buyers by appearing on a major retailer’s platform early. The PNY GeForce RTX 5060 8GB OC is listed for $299.99, boasting an impressive boost clock of up to 2.54 GHz.

NVIDIA, along with its board partners, is gearing up to launch the second 60-class card in their Blackwell lineup. Despite the RTX 5060 Ti being the only model previously available, the non-Ti version is expected soon, though the exact launch date remains under wraps.

As launch day approaches, partners like PNY are starting to list their variants, with the PNY GeForce RTX 5060 8GB OC edition featuring an elegant all-black design and dual-fan cooling. Although listed, the card can’t be purchased just yet due to a launch embargo. Historically, prices tend to rise after release, despite starting at NVIDIA’s suggested $299.99.

The RTX 5060 is poised to succeed the RTX 4060 from the Ada family, marking substantial upgrades. It features 3840 CUDA cores, a 25% increase over its predecessor’s 3072 cores, promising enhanced raster performance. While it retains the 8GB memory capacity, the switch to faster GDDR7 technology boosts memory bandwidth from 272 GB/s to approximately 448 GB/s, delivering significant performance improvements.

When first announced, not all specifications were clear. Now, details reveal that the PNY RTX 5060 OC edition offers base and boost clocks of 2.28 GHz and 2.54 GHz, respectively, rivaling the clocks of the RTX 5060 Ti. However, the Founders Edition is expected to have slightly lower boosts.

Though slightly more power-hungry than the RTX 4060, with a TBP of 145W, the anticipated 25% performance increase justifies the modest power rise. While base models will ship at $299, premium editions might reach closer to $400, following the trend of increasing prices in the RTX 50 series.
