Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design Unveiled: 200MP Telephoto Power and a Pro-Grade Camera Kit

Honor has unveiled the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design, a new flagship smartphone built to appeal to photography fans and power users who want premium hardware with a distinctive, luxury-inspired look.

A major highlight is the rear camera system, designed around versatility and high resolution. It includes a 50MP main camera with an f/1.6 aperture and a large 1/1.3-inch sensor for better light capture, alongside a 50MP ultra-wide camera at f/2.0 for landscapes and group shots. The star of the setup is a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with an f/2.6 aperture, a sizable 1/1.4-inch sensor, and 3.7x optical zoom, aiming to deliver sharper long-distance images than typical telephoto modules.

For users who want even more reach, Honor will offer a separate tele converter that boosts the effective zoom to around 8.7x. There’s also an optional camera kit that adds a protective case and a magnetic grip, both finished with a leather-like texture for a more premium feel. The case supports standard 67mm filters, making it easier to use common photography accessories, while the grip enhances camera handling with a dedicated shutter button and a customizable control dial—features that can make mobile shooting feel closer to a traditional camera.

Under the hood, the Honor Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, positioning it as a high-performance option for gaming, multitasking, and on-device processing. On the front, it features a 6.71-inch display with a 2808 x 1256 resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and an eye-catching peak brightness of up to 6,000 nits, which should improve visibility outdoors and support vivid HDR content.

Battery life is another strong selling point. The device packs a large 7,200mAh battery and supports fast charging up to 120W over USB-C, plus 80W wireless charging—specs that target users who want less downtime between charges.

The phone also supports the Beidou satellite network, although that capability is expected to be limited to the Chinese market. Overall, the Magic 8 RSR Porsche Design combines a high-end camera approach, flagship chipset performance, fast charging, and premium add-on accessories aimed at people who prioritize mobile photography and top-tier hardware.
