Google’s AI Mode Becomes Your Smarter Travel Planner With Flight Alerts and Hotel Booking Help

Google AI Mode Is Becoming a Smarter Travel Planner for Flights, Hotels, and Reward Bookings

Google is expanding AI Mode with new travel features designed to make trip planning easier, faster, and more conversational. The company is adding tools that let users track flight prices, compare hotel options, book stays, and even check travel costs in airline miles or hotel points.

The update shows Google’s growing ambition to turn AI Mode into a practical AI travel assistant, not just a search tool. Instead of simply showing travel information, AI Mode can now help users move further through the planning process, from researching flights and hotels to starting a booking.

With the new flight tools, users can tell AI Mode where they want to go, when they want to travel, and what kind of trip they have in mind. AI Mode will then surface flight options using current prices from more than 300 airlines and travel platforms.

If travelers are ready to book, they can use AI Mode to help build their itinerary. If they are not ready yet, they can ask AI Mode to monitor prices with a request such as, “track these flight prices for me.” Google will then send an email alert when prices change for the selected route and travel dates.

Flight price tracking in AI Mode is now available in more than 180 countries, making it one of the broader travel-related rollouts for Google’s conversational search experience.

Google is also bringing hotel discovery and booking into AI Mode. Users can describe their trip, preferred location, budget, hotel style, amenities, or other requirements. AI Mode will respond with hotel suggestions that include useful details such as reviews and important property highlights.

Once a user finds a hotel they like, AI Mode can guide them toward completing the reservation. A “Continue on Google” option will appear with participating travel partners, allowing users to choose a room, review booking details, check cancellation policies, and pay using Google Pay.

Google says the hotel or booking provider will remain responsible for the reservation and customer service after the booking is completed.

Hotel booking through AI Mode is beginning to roll out in the United States in English. Availability will expand over the coming weeks with support from major hotel chains and travel platforms, including Booking.com, Choice Hotels International, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Another major addition is support for points and miles. AI Mode can now show the cost of flights and hotels using travel rewards. For example, a user can ask, “I want to travel from Atlanta to Miami using my AA miles. Help me find nonstop flights departing October 9 and returning October 12.”

AI Mode will then display matching options and show how many miles are needed to book them. This feature is now available globally.

These updates could make Google AI Mode a more useful tool for travelers who want a single place to compare flights, monitor price drops, explore hotels, and understand reward travel options. By combining conversational search with real-time travel data and booking support, Google is pushing AI Mode closer to becoming a full-service digital travel planner.
