Sennheiser Teams Up with Mercedes-AMG for a Sleek New HD 620S Gaming Headset

Sennheiser and Mercedes-AMG Team Up for a Sporty HD 620S Gaming Headset

Sennheiser has announced a new multi-year partnership with Mercedes-AMG, bringing together premium audio engineering and high-performance motorsport design. The collaboration was revealed during Gamescom 2026, and the first product from the partnership is already here: the Sennheiser HD 620S Mercedes-AMG Edition.

The new headset is aimed at gamers, audio enthusiasts, and motorsport fans who want a premium wired headset with a more aggressive, racing-inspired look. While it is based on the existing Sennheiser HD 620S, this special Mercedes-AMG Edition adds distinctive visual details that help it stand out.

At first glance, the overall shape and design remain familiar. Sennheiser has not completely redesigned the HD 620S for this edition, which makes sense given that the original model already has a strong identity. Instead, the company has added sporty red accents across the headset, including details on the ear cups and the visible headband extension joints.

The top of the headband also features bold Mercedes-AMG branding in grey, giving the headset a cleaner premium look while still leaning into its motorsport theme. The result is a headset that feels more stylish and performance-focused without moving too far away from the original HD 620S design.

In terms of hardware, Sennheiser has not confirmed any major internal changes. That means the HD 620S Mercedes-AMG Edition is expected to deliver a listening experience very similar to the standard HD 620S. For fans of the original model, that could be good news.

The headset uses a closed-back design with 42 mm drivers, making it suitable for users who prefer better isolation from outside noise. This can be especially useful for gaming sessions, online calls, and focused listening in shared spaces. The HD 620S is also known for being comfortable, which is important for anyone who spends long hours playing games, editing content, or listening to music.

However, the sound signature may not be perfect for every listener straight out of the box. Some users may prefer to adjust the equalizer to fine-tune the audio to their liking. Even so, most people should find the overall sound quality solid, especially if they are looking for a premium wired headset with a closed-back build.

One of the key additions for gamers is the included HD 500 boom arm microphone. This makes the Mercedes-AMG Edition more practical for voice chat, team communication, streaming, and general online use. A dedicated boom mic is often a major advantage over built-in laptop or controller microphones, especially for players who want clearer voice pickup during competitive gaming.

The Sennheiser HD 620S Mercedes-AMG Edition is expected to launch in November, with a price of around €399, or roughly $465. That places it firmly in the premium headset category, where buyers are likely to care about both sound performance and design.

This first release also hints at what may come next from the Sennheiser and Mercedes-AMG partnership. Since the companies have confirmed a multi-year collaboration, more co-branded audio products could follow in the future. If this headset is any indication, the partnership will likely focus on products that blend high-end audio with the visual identity of motorsport.

For gamers who appreciate premium audio gear and the styling of Mercedes-AMG, the HD 620S Mercedes-AMG Edition could be an appealing choice. It does not appear to reinvent the HD 620S formula, but it adds a sharper design, racing-inspired accents, and a gaming-ready microphone to an already respected wired headset.
