Global Launch of HyperOS 2.1 Anticipated for February 2025

Xiaomi’s latest software innovation, HyperOS 2.1, is set to immerse users in an enhanced digital experience, especially for those outside China. Previously known as MIUI, Xiaomi’s software has undergone a transformation, adopting the new name HyperOS. The newest iteration, 2.1, is crafted on the backbone of Android 15, promising a seamless AI interface and superior functionalities on compatible smartphones.

Recent insights suggest that HyperOS 2.1 may soon be available globally. Although initially speculated to be exclusive to the Chinese market, sightings by Xiaomitime of the “Global” firmware version, OS2.0.100.0.VNAMIXM, hint at an imminent international release. This global version is anticipated to introduce “Super Xiao Ai,” offering users a more intelligent AI interaction. Additionally, it introduces BeaconLink capabilities, enabling a Wi-Fi and SIM-independent short-range communication feature, much like a walkie-talkie, reminiscent of features seen in OnePlus devices.

In terms of enhancements, this version is designed to elevate gaming experiences, camera functionalities, and the overall user interface of the home screen. HyperOS 2.1, structured on Android 15, also updates devices with a security patch as new as January 2025.

The flagship, the 14 Ultra, is expected to be the first to receive this update. As Xiaomi’s premier offering, priced at approximately $1,059.50 in numerous markets, it makes perfect sense for it to lead the charge. The rollout across eligible devices could be completed by the close of February 2025.

Moreover, if this update rolls out as reported, future Xiaomi devices including the anticipated Poco F7, F7 Pro, and F7 Ultra might arrive with HyperOS 2.1 pre-installed, promising users a cutting-edge technological journey right out of the box.

This move not only marks a significant step for Xiaomi in the global market but also sets the stage for a new era of enhanced smartphone experiences for users worldwide.
