Garmin is rolling out a fresh stable software update for its Instinct 3 lineup, bringing practical refinements after the feature-packed System Software 13.26 release. That earlier update delivered dozens of additions and fixes over versions 12.23 and 12.26, and Garmin previously hinted it would likely be the last build in the 13.xx beta cycle. So far, that appears to be true, but Instinct 3 owners are still getting one more important round of polish in a new stable patch.
The latest release, System Software 13.27, is now being pushed to eligible Instinct 3 series smartwatches, including the Instinct E, Instinct 3, and Instinct Crossover AMOLED. While it isn’t positioned as a major feature drop, it focuses on smoothing out two key areas that affect everyday use.
First, the update addresses a problem where Goal Alert wasn’t displaying correctly. For users who rely on on-watch prompts to stay on track with training targets and daily activity goals, this fix should make alerts more reliable and easier to catch at a glance.
Second, Garmin says it has delivered multiple improvements and bug fixes for Gear Tracking. The company hasn’t shared detailed notes on exactly what changed, but the mention suggests broader stability work and refinements to how gear is logged, managed, or tracked within the wearable’s ecosystem.
System Software 13.27 is arriving as an over-the-air update, meaning you won’t need to connect your watch to a computer to get it. Garmin’s current estimate indicates that about half of compatible devices have already received the update notification, with the rest expected to follow as the rollout continues. If you haven’t seen it yet, it may simply be a matter of waiting for the staged release to reach your device.
