GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition loses a handy charging case feature, but the price stays the same
GameSir has confirmed a notable change to the G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition, and it affects one of the controller’s most useful bundled accessories. The limited-edition Xbox-style controller will now ship with a redesigned carrying case that no longer supports charging while the controller is stored inside.
The GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition originally included a protective carrying case designed to hold both the controller and its charging dock. That case did more than protect the gamepad from dust and scratches. It also featured a USB-C port aligned with the charging dock, allowing users to charge the controller without removing it from the case.
That convenience is now being removed from the included accessory.
According to GameSir, the new carrying case has been redesigned to be simpler and easier to use while still offering storage and protection. The case will continue to keep the controller and accessories secure, but owners will no longer be able to charge the controller directly through the case.
The controller itself remains unchanged, and the rest of the package is expected to stay the same. That means buyers are still getting the same premium GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition controller, along with its themed extras and gaming accessories. However, the price is also unchanged, which may disappoint players who valued the original case’s charging function.
The GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition is priced at $129.99. For that price, it offers wireless connectivity with Xbox consoles using a 2.4GHz dongle, making it one of the more flexible third-party Xbox-compatible controllers in GameSir’s lineup. It also supports wired play through USB-C and works with PC using wired or 2.4GHz wireless connections. Android compatibility is available through Bluetooth.
Key features include a 1,000Hz polling rate on PC, Hall Effect analog triggers, optical micro switch ABXY buttons, four customizable buttons, and a 1,200mAh battery. These specs make it appealing for players who want fast input response, improved durability, and more control customization.
The retail package includes the controller, an extra faceplate, charging dock, 2.4GHz dongle, USB-C cable, keychain, two extra D-pads, four pairs of thumbsticks, four thumbstick covers, an in-game item pack redemption card, and a 30-day Xbox Game Pass Ultimate card.
For buyers who still want a carrying case with built-in charging support, GameSir sells a separate case for G7 Pro controllers. That optional case is priced at $19.99, comes in Black and Silver, and includes three pairs of thumbsticks.
While the removal of pass-through charging from the included case is a clear downgrade in convenience, the GameSir G7 Pro Zenless Zone Zero Edition still remains a feature-packed controller for Xbox, PC, and Android players. The biggest question is whether fans will accept paying the same premium price for a bundle that now offers slightly less functionality than before.
