Eversoul Bids Farewell Worldwide as Global Shutdown Set for June 30

Kakao Games has confirmed that Eversoul is shutting down globally on June 30, 2026, bringing an end to the collectible RPG’s live service run. Developed by Nine Ark, the game launched in January 2023 and quickly attracted a loyal community, but momentum faded over time. In-app purchases were turned off on April 29, the same day the shutdown announcement was made.

For many players, Eversoul stood out in a crowded mobile RPG market thanks to its mix of stylish anime-inspired presentation and systems that went beyond a typical idle battler. The story takes place in Eden, a world transformed after Earth’s destruction, where players step into the role of a Savior. Your job is to recruit “Souls” across six distinct factions, build relationships with them, and assemble teams for ongoing combat and progression.

A major part of Eversoul’s identity was its Bond System, which encouraged players to spend time with characters and deepen connections in a way that felt closer to a dating-sim style feature than a standard companion mechanic. The game also layered in town-building elements, giving players another long-term progression track outside of battles and resource farming. At its height, Eversoul even reached as high as fourth place on Google Play’s global revenue rankings, showing just how strong its peak period was.

What happens next for players is straightforward but time-sensitive. The game will remain playable until the June 30 shutdown date, but once servers go offline, all in-game data will be permanently deleted. Downloads will end, and access to official community channels is also set to stop on the same day.

Refunds are available for a limited group of purchases. Players who bought items between March 29 and April 29, 2026 can request a refund, as long as the purchased items remain unused. Refund requests must be submitted before June 30. The request process can be initiated inside the game by going to Settings, then Account, then User Guide and Coupons, then Contact Us, and selecting the Payment Related category. Players who can’t access the game anymore are still able to submit refund requests directly.

This global shutdown follows a similar trajectory to Eversoul’s Japan service, which ended in August 2025. The Japan version launched in May 2024 and lasted a little over a year, with its closure tied to falling revenue and an unsuccessful attempt to change course by reducing full voice acting support.

In its official statement, Kakao Games said the decision came after “carefully considering various circumstances,” a familiar phrasing for live service games that can no longer justify ongoing operating costs against declining player spending. While Kakao Games recently secured a major strategic investment from LY Corporation, that development did not translate into a continued future for Eversoul.

With Eversoul joining the growing list of mobile games ending service in 2026, players who still have unfinished story progress, character bonds, or team goals now have a final window to enjoy Eden before the servers close for good.
