Exciting updates are emerging about MediaTek’s upcoming powerhouse, the Dimensity 9400. Some new information from Geekbench reveals this new SoC’s impressive CPU specifications. The chip features an 8-core processor, with its prime core clocked at a notable 3.36 GHz.
While previous leaks hinted that the Dimensity 9400 might not deliver a significant boost in raw clock speeds, it appears MediaTek has opted to leverage the substantial IPC gains from the Cortex-X925 architecture to stay competitive with Qualcomm. Fresh data from Geekbench supports this, showcasing the promising performance metrics of the Dimensity 9400.
According to Geekbench’s new TensorFlow Lite GPU AI benchmark, the Dimensity 9400 scores impressively: 1,502 in Single Precision, 1,897 in Half Precision, and 1,793 in Quantized. When examining the CPU, the prime core’s clock speed of 3.36 GHz is paired with three performance cores at 2.80 GHz. Additional performance cores are expected to run at 2.10 GHz, similar to the configuration seen in the Dimensity 9300. Further digging into Geekbench code hints at a robust 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU.
Mark your calendars for October, as MediaTek plans to officially unveil the Dimensity 9400 around the same time Qualcomm introduces the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Early reports suggest that Qualcomm’s new chip, with its advanced Nuvia cores and lightning-fast 4.32 GHz clock speed, can compete head-to-head with Apple’s latest A18 and A18 Pro. We should soon see real-world benchmarks confirming the Dimensity 9400’s capabilities.
This upcoming SoC promises to be a game-changer in the world of smartphones, making for an exciting October in the tech world. Stay tuned for more updates on how the Dimensity 9400 stands up against the competition in terms of both performance and efficiency.
