Decathlon Introduces New Van Rysel E-GRVL Electric Gravel Bikes

Decathlon, the renowned sporting goods retailer, recently announced the launch of three additions to its electric gravel bike lineup under the Van Rysel brand. This announcement, coinciding with the Velofollies event, included the debut of the Van Rysel E-GRVL AF MD, which is part of a catalogue that features models scheduled to be released in the US market this year.

The Van Rysel E-GRVL AF MD electric gravel bike is equipped with a Brose Drive T Mag mid-mounted motor, delivering up to 250W of power and 70 Nm of torque. It boasts a 400Wh battery, ensuring ample range for extended rides on varied terrain. The bike’s other features include Michelin Power Gravel tires and an SRAM Apex 12-speed groupset. Designed for both performance and comfort, the bike possesses an aluminum 6061 frame paired with a rigid carbon fork, averaging a weight of 39.7 lbs (approximately 18.0 kg).

In addition to the AF MD model, the catalogue features the Van Rysel E-GRVL AF X30, a bike powered by a 250W 40 Nm Mahle X35 rear hub motor and a 250Wh battery. Set up for efficient gear shifting, the bike includes an SRAM Apex 12-speed groupset, fitted with Hutchinson Touareg tires for optimal grip. This model matches the durability and aesthetics of its sibling, with an aluminum 6061 frame and a carbon fork, but is more lightweight, tipping the scales at around 30.8 lbs (about 14.0 kg).

Another bike in the lineup is the Van Rysel E-GRVL AF X35, which was disclosed through a support page. This variant comes with a 35 Nm Mahle X35 rear motor that provides three levels of assistance to boost your ride. It includes a 244 Wh battery and a convenient BC900 GPS bike computer that displays ride information. The bike is outfitted with an SRAM XPLR transmission, SRAM brakes, and Hutchinson Touareg tires. This model is lighter still, weighing approximately 32.6 lbs (around 14.8 kg).

The launch date and pricing in the US for the AF MD, AF X30, and AF X35 models are yet to be disclosed. However, the E-GRVL AF MD is set to be released in the EU in March with a price tag of €3,500 (approximately $3,800). Prospective buyers are awaiting further details on when the other two electric gravel bikes will be available for purchase and their respective costs.

For bike enthusiasts, a recommended accessory to complement these e-bikes could be the Lamicall Bike Phone Holder, which is available for purchase on Amazon.
