Citizen has quietly expanded its US lineup with three elegant new Fio Roma watches, bringing a distinctly vintage, jewelry-like look to the brand’s Eco‑Drive collection. First launched in Japan in February 2026, these compact timepieces are now available for shoppers in the United States, positioning themselves as a refined everyday option for anyone who prefers smaller, minimalist watches with a classic twist.
The new Citizen Fio Roma range includes three models: EG2790-12A, EG2797-13A, and EG2799-18W. All three are built around Citizen’s smallest Eco‑Drive movement, the caliber G620. That means no regular battery changes—these watches can charge from virtually any light source, making them a convenient choice for daily wear while keeping a sleek, traditional analog style.
Design-wise, Citizen leans into understated sophistication. Each watch features a clean sunray dial with two analog hands and Roman numeral indices for a timeless, dressy feel. A mineral crystal covers the dial, and the watches offer 30 meters of water resistance—enough for basic splashes and day-to-day use, though not intended for swimming or heavy water exposure.
A major highlight is the case size. The Fio Roma models use a rectangular stainless steel case with softly rounded edges, measuring 17.3 x 24.5 mm (about 0.68 x 0.96 inches). The right side features a slightly oversized crown, finished with a black cabochon detail that adds a subtle, upscale accent. Each watch comes paired with an embossed leather strap to complete the vintage-inspired look.
The three versions offer distinct color combinations to match different styles:
– EG2790-12A: silver dial and silver-toned case, paired with a black leather strap
– EG2797-13A: silver dial with a yellow gold-tone case, matched with a dark brown leather strap
– EG2799-18W: silver dial with a rose gold-colored case, paired with a gray leather strap
All three Citizen Fio Roma watches are listed in the Citizen online store in the US for $275 each, giving buyers a choice of finishes while keeping the price consistent across the lineup. As for wider availability, Citizen hasn’t confirmed if or when an official European launch will happen, so interested shoppers outside the US may need to wait for further updates.
