Citizen is preparing to launch a striking new watch lineup for 2026: the Light in Black collection. Created as part of the brand’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the series brings together seven limited-edition Eco-Drive watches with dramatic black textured dials, yellow-gold accents, and light-powered movements.
The upcoming Citizen Light in Black collection is designed around a bold black-and-gold theme. Each model features a dark dial divided into five textured sections, a visual tribute to five decades of Citizen watchmaking. The dial pattern is produced using inkjet printing, while subtle gold flecks are added to create a shimmering effect as the watch moves in the light.
Five models from the collection are scheduled for a global release in June 2026. These include the Citizen Attesa Satellite Wave GPS CC4078-51E, Citizen Attesa AT8384-58E, Citizen Promaster Dive BN0264-53E, Citizen Classic Chronograph AT2576-68E, and Citizen L Bianca EW5636-55E.
Two additional watches appear to be planned exclusively for Japan: the Citizen Exceed CB1147-61E and the Citizen xC Hikari Collection ES9495-59E.
A major highlight across the lineup is Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology. These movements can be charged by almost any light source, reducing the need for regular battery replacements. Combined with limited production numbers and anniversary-inspired styling, the Light in Black series is likely to appeal to both collectors and everyday watch fans looking for something distinctive.
The collection covers a wide price range, making it accessible to different buyers. The most affordable global model is the Citizen Classic Chronograph AT2576-68E, priced from $450 in the US and £329 in the UK. At the higher end, the Citizen Attesa Satellite Wave GPS CC4078-51E will retail for $2,195 in the US and £1,595 in the UK.
