Citizen’s New Limited-Edition Attesa Titanium Watches Launch Outside Japan Ahead of Schedule
Citizen has officially made its latest limited-edition Attesa watches available outside Japan, giving collectors an early chance to buy two striking Eco-Drive 50th Anniversary models. The new Citizen Attesa CC4084-83Z “Power of Green Flash” and CC4085-81Z “Power of Purple Aurora” are now listed in the UK for £1,595 each, while the Purple Aurora model has also appeared in the US for $2,295.
The launch is especially notable because these watches are arriving in some overseas markets before their scheduled release in Japan. Citizen Japan currently lists both models for an October launch, but US buyers can already order the Purple Aurora, with deliveries quoted as early as September 15. That gives American collectors access to one of the anniversary models weeks ahead of Japan.
There is also a pleasant pricing surprise for US shoppers. Citizen’s earlier global announcement suggested an expected US price of $2,515 for these references, but the Purple Aurora is currently listed at $2,295, making it $220 lower than initially projected.
The two watches share the same technical foundation, but their designs take very different approaches. Rather than relying on conventional paint, Citizen has used light-reactive materials and surface treatments to create dramatic color effects.
The Citizen Attesa CC4084-83Z “Power of Green Flash” features a green structural color film beneath an inkjet-printed black dial layer. The result is a dial that shifts and glows depending on how the light hits it. Its sapphire bezel ring has a deep green tint created through vapor deposition, which Citizen describes as a first for the Attesa line. Radiating lines beneath the bezel add extra depth, while a Duratect Amber Yellow treatment gives the case accents a distinctive warm tone.
The Citizen Attesa CC4085-81Z “Power of Purple Aurora” takes a more celestial approach. It uses raised printing on a black dial, with structural color film applied to the subdials. Depending on the viewing angle, those subdials shift between purple and blue, creating an aurora-like effect. Pink gold-colored indices and city names add contrast, while the Duratect Pink bezel is made using real gold for a richer finish.
Availability differs by region. UK buyers currently have access to both the Green Flash and Purple Aurora editions. In the US, only the Purple Aurora model is available through Citizen’s official store at the time of launch, meaning American collectors do not yet have the option to purchase the Green Flash version.
Both models are limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide, adding to their appeal for watch enthusiasts and Citizen collectors. Each watch features a 44.6 mm Super Titanium case with a thickness of 15.4 mm. The case includes DLC treatment for added durability, along with a dual spherical sapphire crystal and 10 bar water resistance.
Inside, both watches are powered by Citizen’s Eco-Drive F950 satellite-wave GPS movement. This solar-powered movement is designed for accuracy and convenience, offering satellite signal reception in as little as three seconds. It also includes world time functionality, a perpetual calendar, and a 1/20-second chronograph capable of measuring up to 24 hours.
With their titanium construction, advanced GPS movement, limited production run, and eye-catching light-reactive dials, the new Citizen Attesa Eco-Drive 50th Anniversary models are clearly aimed at collectors who want more than a standard luxury sports watch. The early overseas release also makes the launch more exciting, especially for buyers in the US and UK who can secure these anniversary editions before they officially arrive in Japan.
