Citizen Unveils Two Limited-Edition Cross Sea xC Watches for the Collection’s 30th Anniversary
Citizen is celebrating a major milestone for its Cross Sea xC collection with the launch of two limited-edition watches inspired by night travel, city lights, and a star-filled sky. Created for the 30th anniversary of the popular women’s watch line, the new models are part of a special “Midnight Voyage” series and will debut in Japan on October 8.
The anniversary lineup includes two distinct designs: the square-shaped Citizen Cross Sea xC ES9504-68E and the round Citizen Cross Sea xC EC1039-55E. Both models feature dark cases, elegant bracelets, and deep blue dials with shimmering details that resemble a glowing cityscape under the night sky.
The Citizen Cross Sea xC ES9504-68E offers a refined square design with a compact 25mm Super Titanium case. Its black finish is enhanced with Citizen’s Duratect DLC coating, giving the watch a sleek and durable appearance. The dial blends black and deep blue tones, creating a dramatic gradient effect, while glittering accents across the lower section bring the “Midnight Voyage” theme to life.
Adding to its premium feel, the ES9504-68E includes two lab-grown diamonds at the 12 o’clock position. These diamonds are designed to symbolize guiding lights in the darkness. Roman numeral hour markers and polished silver dauphine-style hands complete the elegant look, making this model suitable for both daily wear and dressier occasions.
Citizen also includes a matching black Super Titanium bracelet with the watch, along with an additional black cowhide leather strap featuring a navy blue underside. This gives owners the flexibility to switch between a modern bracelet style and a softer leather look.
The second model, the Citizen Cross Sea xC EC1039-55E, brings the same anniversary concept to a round 27.8mm stainless steel case. Finished in jet black, the case gives the watch a bold yet sophisticated appearance. Its blue-and-black dial features the same sparkling night-city design, but with extra visual details that highlight its travel-inspired personality.
At 9 o’clock, the EC1039-55E includes lab-grown diamonds and faceted accents that represent distant lights on the horizon. Additional sparkling elements appear on the hour markers, adding more depth and brilliance to the dial. This model also features a chapter ring printed with world-time city codes, making it especially fitting for travelers or collectors who appreciate global timekeeping functionality.
Both limited-edition Citizen Cross Sea xC watches are powered by Eco-Drive movements, meaning they run on light and do not require regular battery replacement. The ES9504-68E uses Citizen’s H060 movement, while the EC1039-55E is equipped with the H246 movement.
Key features across both models include radio-controlled timekeeping, world time, perpetual calendar functionality, date display, sapphire crystal, and 5 ATM water resistance. With power-saving mode enabled, each watch can run for approximately three years on a full charge.
Citizen has also added special engraved casebacks to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Cross Sea xC collection. Both models are made in Japan, further emphasizing their premium positioning and collector appeal.
The Citizen Cross Sea xC ES9504-68E will be limited to 1,400 pieces worldwide and is priced at ¥154,000, which is approximately $1,002. The Citizen Cross Sea xC EC1039-55E will be limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide and is priced at ¥95,700, or around $623.
With their elegant dark finishes, starry blue dials, Eco-Drive technology, and limited production numbers, the new Citizen Cross Sea xC “Midnight Voyage” watches are likely to attract both longtime fans of the collection and collectors searching for a distinctive anniversary timepiece.
