Citizen has just unveiled a fresh new addition to its xC lineup in Japan: the Hikari Collection Square 2way ES9500-51A. Designed for everyday wear with a refined, modern edge, this lightweight square-faced watch stands out not only for its elegant dial but also for its practical “2way” concept, arriving with two easily interchangeable bands for different looks and occasions.
At the center of the design is a bright white and silver sunray dial that catches the light beautifully. Citizen pairs that shimmer with a tasteful mix of brown Roman numerals and sharp, angular gold-tone indexes, creating a face that feels both classic and contemporary. It’s a detail-rich layout that’s easy to read at a glance while still looking dressy enough for more formal settings.
The case is built from Citizen’s Super Titanium, finished in a silver-tone Duratect Platinum coating for a sleek, premium appearance. The compact sizing should appeal to anyone who prefers a smaller watch profile, measuring 25 mm wide and only 7.8 mm thick. Citizen includes a matching titanium bracelet that can be adjusted for length, along with an additional plant-based leather strap—giving wearers the ability to quickly switch between a polished metal look and a softer, more casual style.
Beyond aesthetics, the ES9500-51A is equipped with the H060 caliber and Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology, meaning it can be powered by light rather than relying on routine battery changes. It’s also radio-controlled for automatic time and calendar adjustment, with coverage designed to work across Japan, China, Europe, and America. Additional practical features include a date display, a battery level indicator, and a power-saving mode, rounding it out as a dependable daily companion.
The Citizen xC Hikari Collection Square 2way ES9500-51A is scheduled to launch in Japan on May 14th, with a listed price of ¥113,300 (around $706). For now, Citizen hasn’t confirmed if or when this model will be released in other regions, so international availability remains uncertain.
