Citizen USA is adding fresh options to its Terra Force lineup with two new aviation-inspired solar chronographs: the Citizen Terra Force CA4746-08X and CA4747-05L. Built for bold, cockpit-style legibility and everyday durability, both watches land in the brand’s mid-range Eco-Drive family and bring a big-wrist pilot watch presence with practical specs to match.
Both models share the same core build: a 43 mm silver-tone stainless steel case and a 22 mm lug width, giving them the substantial stance many enthusiasts expect from an aviation chronograph. The dials lean heavily into readability with large Arabic numerals and high-contrast sub-dials—an easy win for quick time checks in bright sun or low light.
Where the two begin to separate is in style and wrist feel. The CA4746-08X goes in a more distinctive direction, pairing a dark brown dial with gold-toned hands plus gold-tone accents on the crown and chronograph pushers. That two-tone look stands out from the more common utilitarian pilot-watch color schemes, making it a strong choice for anyone who wants the aviation aesthetic without the usual all-black or all-grey vibe.
The CA4747-05L stays more classic with a monochromatic blue dial and silver-toned hardware for a cleaner, more traditional tool-watch look. Strap choice is also a key difference. The brown-dial CA4746-08X comes on a standard two-piece leather strap with a buckle. The blue-dial CA4747-05L uses a leather NATO-style single-pass strap, which can make the already-large case sit a bit higher on the wrist—something to keep in mind if you prefer a lower profile fit.
Citizen equips both watches with mineral crystal. Mineral glass typically offers better shatter resistance than sapphire, which can be reassuring for daily wear, though it’s also more likely to pick up surface scratches over time compared with sapphire.
Powering the pair is Citizen’s Caliber B620 Eco-Drive movement, a light-powered quartz engine designed for low fuss ownership. On a full charge it delivers up to a 9-month power reserve, with stated accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. The chronograph can measure up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments, giving it the sporty timing function people expect from this category. Leaning into the aviation-inspired theme, the watches include a tachymeter scale on the internal bezel, while still offering a practical 100-meter (10-bar) water resistance rating for everyday life.
Pricing is set at $425 per watch. Availability timing hasn’t been fully detailed yet, but with two distinct dial-and-strap personalities, the new Citizen Terra Force CA4746-08X and CA4747-05L look positioned to appeal to anyone shopping for a large, readable Eco-Drive pilot chronograph with modern reliability and minimal maintenance.
