Citizen has introduced a new version of its World Chronograph A.T. watch, bringing together solar-powered convenience, radio-controlled accuracy, and a bold green dial. The new Citizen World Chronograph A.T. AT8260-85X is designed for travelers, frequent flyers, and watch fans who want a feature-packed chronograph that can automatically keep itself accurate across multiple regions.
The latest model uses Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology, meaning it is powered by light rather than relying on regular battery replacements. It also features atomic timekeeping, allowing the watch to receive radio signals and automatically adjust the time and calendar when it is within range of supported transmitters.
One of the biggest highlights of the Citizen AT8260-85X is its world-time functionality. The watch includes city codes for 26 time zones, making it easy to check or adjust time while traveling internationally. A UTC scale runs around the dial’s outer edge, giving the watch a technical and aviation-inspired appearance.
The new model comes in a 43mm stainless steel case, giving it a strong wrist presence. The case combines brushed and polished surfaces, while the matching stainless steel bracelet keeps the overall design classic and versatile. Despite its busy layout, the watch maintains a refined look thanks to polished Dauphine-style hands and sharp triangular hour markers.
The green dial is packed with useful displays. Three subdials are arranged vertically, giving the watch a balanced yet complex appearance. The chronograph function can measure elapsed time in 1/20-second increments for up to 60 minutes. There is also a date window positioned at 3 o’clock, a power reserve indicator, a 12/24-hour display, and a perpetual calendar.
Inside the watch is Citizen’s H800 Eco-Drive movement. This radio-controlled solar movement can synchronize the time and calendar in North America, Europe, Japan, and China, as long as the watch can receive a compatible local signal. That means the AT8260-85X can correct itself automatically without frequent manual adjustments.
The perpetual calendar is another practical feature, especially for those who prefer a low-maintenance watch. It is designed to account for different month lengths and leap years, reducing the need for manual date corrections.
For durability, the Citizen World Chronograph A.T. AT8260-85X uses a sapphire crystal, which offers strong scratch resistance compared with standard mineral glass. The watch is also rated for 100 meters of water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, though it is not intended as a dedicated dive watch.
Apart from its green dial, the AT8260-85X is very similar to earlier Citizen World Chronograph A.T. models, including versions with white and dark blue dials. The green finish gives the watch a fresh look while preserving the same combination of world time, chronograph performance, solar charging, and atomic accuracy.
The Citizen World Chronograph A.T. AT8260-85X is currently available in the UK with a price of £499. At the moment, this particular green-dial version appears to be limited to the UK market. It is not yet clear when or if it will be released in other regions.
