Casio’s latest surf-focused G-Shock, the Kanoa Igarashi GBX-H5600KI-5, is getting ready for a wider European rollout. The special-edition model has appeared on Casio’s German, Dutch, and Spanish online stores with a listed price of €329, although shoppers currently get a notification signup instead of an option to buy.
The GBX-H5600KI-5 is the fourth signature G-Shock created with professional surfer Kanoa Igarashi, following the GLX-5600KI-7, GBX-100KI-1, and GLX-5600KB-1. This new model blends Casio’s rugged sports-watch DNA with a design inspired by Ericeira, the Portuguese coastal town where Igarashi trains.
Its look is one of the biggest highlights. Casio uses bio-based resin for the bezel and band, finished in a brown mixed-color pattern designed to resemble coastal cliffs. Because of the way the resin is blended during production, each watch has a slightly different appearance, giving every unit its own unique character. Lavender accents on the dial add a softer contrast and are inspired by the ocean at dusk. Igarashi’s signature appears below the display and on the caseback, while his World Surf League number 50 is printed on the lower band.
Beyond the limited-edition styling, this is a serious fitness and surf watch. The GBX-H5600KI-5 is built on Casio’s newer GBX-H5600 platform and includes an optical heart rate sensor along with a three-axis accelerometer. These sensors support training analysis, including cardio load, recovery tracking, pace, distance, stride, and sleep-related insights.
For surfers, the watch adds useful ocean-focused tools such as tide graphs, moon phase data, and sunrise and sunset times. The memory-in-pixel LCD display is designed for strong visibility in bright sunlight and underwater conditions, making it practical for beach sessions, surfing, running, and everyday outdoor use.
The case measures 51.1 x 44.5 x 17.3 mm and weighs 47 grams. Casio has also fitted the watch with a carbon fiber-reinforced resin caseback, which helps reduce weight compared with the previous heart rate model. Other key features include mineral glass, 200-meter water resistance, solar charging, and up to 35 hours of continuous heart rate tracking.
The European listings currently do not show an exact release date, but the watch is expected to reach more markets after its launch in Japan and the United States. With its limited-edition design, surf-ready feature set, heart rate tracking, and lightweight G-Shock construction, the Casio Kanoa Igarashi GBX-H5600KI-5 looks positioned to appeal to both collectors and active users who want a durable sports watch with a distinctive coastal-inspired style.
