Casio GBX-H5600KI-5 G-Shock Kanoa Igarashi Watch Spotted in Real-Life Photos Ahead of July Launch
Casio’s upcoming GBX-H5600KI-5 G-Shock collaboration with professional surfer Kanoa Igarashi has appeared in real-life images, giving fans a much clearer look at the watch before its expected July release. The new photos reveal a key design detail that was not obvious in earlier promotional renders: the accent color appears to be purple rather than pink.
The GBX-H5600KI-5 is the fourth signature G-Shock model created with Kanoa Igarashi, and it continues the ocean-inspired direction of Casio’s G-Lide series. While initial images left some uncertainty around the color accents, the latest in-person shots show the detailing more accurately under indoor lighting. The purple text and highlights stand out against the dark case, giving the watch a sporty but slightly more subdued look than many expected.
One of the most interesting details visible in the new photos is the case finish. Instead of looking like a simple printed pattern, the dark marbled texture appears more layered and natural in person. The effect gives the watch a rugged, stone-like appearance, matching Casio’s design inspiration from the cliffs of Ericeira, a well-known surfing destination in Portugal.
The display shown on the demo unit includes the date, time, battery indicator, and heart rate mode label. Additional icons for the tide graph and Bluetooth connectivity can also be seen, reinforcing the watch’s focus on surf and outdoor activity tracking. Kanoa Igarashi’s signature is placed beneath the screen, while the number “50” appears on the lower strap, referencing his World Surf League bib number.
Retail display signage photographed with the watch confirms that Casio is positioning the GBX-H5600KI-5 as a new signature model within the G-Lide lineup. The watch is expected to launch in Japan with a listed price of 50,600 JPY.
Fan reaction has been mixed so far. Some G-Shock enthusiasts say they would have preferred the originally assumed pink accents, while others feel the purple works well with the black marbled case and gives the watch a more distinctive identity. Either way, the real-life photos appear to have sparked fresh interest in the model ahead of release.
With its heart rate tracking, tide graph, Bluetooth features, surf-inspired design, and Kanoa Igarashi branding, the Casio GBX-H5600KI-5 is shaping up to be one of the more eye-catching G-Lide G-Shock releases of the year. For collectors, surfers, and fans of limited-edition Casio watches, this collaboration is likely to be one to watch closely when it arrives in July.
