Casio looks set to add a splash of color to its budget-friendly AE-1500 lineup in 2025. Two new models, the AE-1500WHC-1AV and AE-1500WHC-8AV, have appeared in European retail listings, hinting at an imminent release. The highlight this time is a bold, colored digital display in a familiar, oversized case that’s built for everyday durability.
The AE-1500WHC-1AV pairs a black resin case and strap with a green-tinted display, while the AE-1500WHC-8AV opts for a gray case and strap complemented by an orange display. Both watches keep the trademark AE-1500 look: a large, round digital window with clear segmentation for time, day, and date. Dimensions are listed at 54.4 x 51.2 x 15.7 mm (about 2.1 x 2.0 x 0.6 inches), so expect substantial wrist presence without a premium price tag.
Functionality remains true to the AE-1500 series ethos—simple, reliable, and practical:
– Time in 12- or 24-hour format, plus day and date on-screen
– 1/100-second stopwatch for quick timing
– Countdown timer up to 24 hours
– Five daily alarms to keep you on schedule
– LED backlight for low-light legibility
– Water resistance rated to 10 ATM
According to a French retailer, both models are available to pre-order at €49.90 each with a planned release date of December 15. As with many retail leaks, official confirmation from Casio regarding European or global availability has not yet been issued.
If you’ve been waiting for a rugged, affordable digital watch with a bit more personality on the wrist, the AE-1500WHC-1AV and AE-1500WHC-8AV could be the colorful update you were hoping for. Keep an eye on regional listings as the December launch window approaches.
